Poor murloc guy... this nerf was completely unnecessary.

I'm thinking that during the past few days, they've noticed other archetypes like Face Hunter and Deathrattle Rogue start to gain ground, so maybe that resulted in a milder treatment of the Shaman nerfs? The Sludge Slurper one is weird though. And I thought for sure they would adjust the Galakrond battlecry.

    My thoughts too

There has been some emerging threats to Galakrond Shaman and I think they wouldn't want to hammer it down just in the beginning of the expansion. I think it's fair like this...

And I also didn't understand the Sludge Sluper nerf... it's now a class Cable Rat. The overload may be a now a huge downside  in non-overload centered decks (like the Galakrond ones)

You can think from another point of view

The rush minions and other endless sources of value stuff can be used as a control tool!

The good old days of just removing your opponent board until they give up on fatigue is just gone, man... we have to deal with it. I like control decks too, but I have adapted in this way above. It feels better.

Also, you still have small chances of these archetypes to emerge when the sets rotate (like when we has control warrior in the beginning of this year).

And if you like playing wild, like me, this is even worse. I mean, your control deck MUST have some sort of wanna-be combo finisher, otherwise, you'll eventually die. Forget about Jaina DK, dead man's hand, etc...

Thing is, most people don't like long matches... they play on mobile and like to solve the battle in a few minutes (I'm not complaining, just guessing what the reason might be).

I don't. Standard is shamans and wild is as you described.

I do my dailies and then play something else. Arena has never interested me and I couldn't care less about Battlegrounds.

Just waiting for December 10th, really...

I come from the future. Standar Is Still plagued by shaman but at least nerfs are coming. Wild Is Still fun :)

    Wild is the real deal!!!

Now that they are printing more stuff to support wild, balancing more frequently (aka Barnes and SN1P-SN4P nerfs), adding the possibility to buy wild packs with gold, etc. I just hope more and more players join us!

    Everyone, get in here!!!

I'm apparently in the minority here, but I really dislike the balance strategy of late. I used to admire what a lot of people have whined about previously - back in the vanilla days, Blizzard were very reluctant to perform any direct balance changes.

That, in my opinion, is the desirable state of affairs. It is a source of continual frustration to me that so many cards have been nerfed - and often not because of any actual balance reason, but because people continually whine about them. The biggest example is probably Quest Rogue on release - barely got above a 50% winrate at any time, and yet got nerfed into non-viability just because people were whining about it. And then ate multiple other nerfs over time, too.

The desirable state of affairs in any card game - hell, any game at all - is for players to find their own solutions. I've gotten to Legend multiple times almost entirely off the back of hating on the most popular decks. Let the meta resolve balance issues, don't just nerf anything that looks like it's doing well before players can react to it.

Unfortunately, that state of affairs is not directly conducive of more people playing (and therefore more money being spent), because people like to whine about things that aren't really problems.

    100% agreed!!

Too many spoiled kids just netdecking and/or expecting for their greedy decks to have 100% WR over everything else..

C'mon, guys!! It has just been 3 (THREE) FUCKING DAYS!!!

This warlock Galakrond still amuses me.. I mean, if you are playing zoo, you are meant to be playing an aggro deck. Aggro decks should not rely on hero cards, especially those that costs 7 mana

Even with the Invoke stuff to summon the imps, still the invoke cards are not aggro oriented!!!

IMO this Galakrond Warlock was an extreme design flaw. They should have created something that could make a control deck more viable.

If someone makes a competitive deck with this card, then he/she will get my applause!

As much as my hype is sky-high, I'll just wait the legendary daily quests to open all the packs at once... Hope I'm able to hold my anxiety until next week!

Until then, I'll be admiring my golden Nithogg and Chenvaala

Although I think the Mechwarper nerf would be more fair to that specific deck, it would eventually kill other mech decks (mostly the Hunter and Paladin aggro decks). So, in the end, I think this solution was the best!

I'm so thrilled to see the next wild meta without that broken shit!!

The next wild meta will just be what it was before people discovered Sn1p-Sn4p warlock: secret mages all over the place with a side of mech paladin.

At least those decks aren't as painful to play against as warlock, I guess.

Yes! They are OP, but not broken, hence, they can be countered!

Also, we got a new expansion coming, so maybe people will figure out some decks to make the meta more diverse (I just hope that no other broken combo isn't discovered soon)...

    Goobye Sn1P Sn4P Warlock!

    Sylvanas looks pretty cool.

Awesome that now we can buy wild packs with gold. For players like me that started a year ago this is pretty cool.

They do care about wild, in the end!!

I'm so glad these things are happening!

I'm really hyped to see many new archetypes (and players) coming to the wild side!!

    PLEASE READ TIL THE END

Don't get me wrong, we've all been waiting for a card with this effect: too bad that it comes when Odd Warrior is not a thing in Standard or Wild anymore (R.I.P. Infinite Armor Druid 2019-2019 no one will miss you).

To be fair though, this card is really bad, and by that I mean that you wouldn't run it in your deck "just in case I face a Warrior or a Druid": it's still a 5 mana 5/5 that requires you a slot in your list and a turn to be played. If you need it that badly (especially now that Tank Up! is no harm) it means that your aggro gameplan isn't going that well. And I'm sure that the Devs balanced Platebreaker to be this way.

On the other side, I think this card is juicy for Combo decks that have limited reach. Imagine for example the Mind Blast Priest vs Odd Warrior matchup: it was a solid 90% win for the latter, right? Anduin's maximum reach was around 30 damage split in two turns and required Alexstrasza's setup, but Odd Warrior was able to stack so much armor that it was almost impossible to kill. Now imagine such a scenario but with Platebreaker: since Odd Warrior can't deal pressure at all, you can easily draw all your deck and set up your combo in the best way possible. It doesn't matter how much armor your opponent has gained through the match, they're suddenly in range.

That being said, I think this card will ever see play in Standard if Warrior will manage to build a strong Control list, but since Garrosh has got so many Tempo tools, I guess Platebreaker will see little play in the nearest future. Cool card, wrong meta (perhaps).

    I feel the same.

In standard, control warrior was losing its position anyways, and wasn't only relying on armor, but more on rush and taunt minions. Even then, this tech card will rotate in about 15 months or so.

In wild, let's face it, guys: armor is useless!! Just count how many warriors and druids you face in higher ranks. Even in these cases, I don't think aggro decks will sacrifice a precious slot (or even 2) with a 5/5 that costs 5 and doesn't do direct damage or something similar...

Ehhh healing something for 2  every turn doesn't outlast it hitting itself for 5 every turn

After the quest completed, I meant. Play this, buff to 3/8, next turn 6/11 and so on.

Never mind I'm dumb it does kill itself I cant read

Not if you're playing quest priest. This might seem hilarious, in fact... imagine buffing this minion turn after turn...

Cool effect but a little slow for the standard ladder. In Wild can be more powerful. The art is one of the worst ever seen

    IMO, that's exactly the opposite!!

Slower Rogue decks barely survive in wild due to its lack of good defensive tools. Just take a look at today's meta: only odd rogue, which is an aggro deck. Shuffle/miracle shenanigans are nonexistant...

I think this card will only be playable in standard. But even then, I have my doubts if it is going to be viable. Remember that one great defensive tool, that is Vanish, was HoFd.
