Toxic or not, when you combine all synergies, probably toxic, yes, but...
I just find it boring to play with and against, playing with constant waves of 1/1 dudes (or slightly buffed). It gets old very quickly, at least for me.
So if it takes over the meta, I will not care that much about it being toxic, but boring as I feel about it, just makes me not want to play at all, at least in Standard. Luckily there's Duels, and other modes to play in.
I don't know why you are so much down-voted here. I would also love pack-opening format. They said it will be something for Arena-gameplay fans... I just don't know how it can be "using player collection".
Technically, it's possible, they can do many things.
My quick example - choose 3 legendaries from your collection. Then you open X amount of packs and build a deck. It's your decision, whether you build around your legendaries, or just decide to build a deck without them... And then you can play either Arena-like (until X wins) or just, for example - month-long some sort of "Ranked" variation (they can add some spicy, different thing each month... 40 hp anyone?).
OMG it's happening ! It's like 3 times more exciting than usual, so many new things coming, not only new expansion !!! (Even tho it can be great, I loved Old Gods theme... I started playing just before Old Gods launched).
This is one of my main complaints since I started playing HS in 2016. Blizzard should allow us to see the whole card arts, some of them are really nice. But since we mostly see only a glimpse of a card... it sucks man. Just like here, it's a horseman, but we will not see it most often :(
I understand, during battle - card arts have to be small, I get it. But PLEASE give us a way, to see whole arts. During battle (in some way that does not interrupt gameplay) and in collection.
Some people just love watching card arts in details, those are piece of arts and effort from graphic developers...
Looking at the winrates, Arena seems to be in pretty "ok" state, but... Dual Class is probably most fun variation of Arena :) I am looking forward to it :)
I still have some hope, that in the 18.4 patchnoes they will mention, maybe a little glimpse of upcoming new mode, coming somewhere between October - November area :)
I guess I didn't read that right when it was announced... I couldn't imagine, they would choose 1000-gold cost Tavern Brawl during so called "3-Week Event"...
I was so sure, we will just get Brawliseum, maybe because the Heroic version of it didn't appear for such a looong time. Now that's a disappointment right? Huge disappointment :(
Even tho I had a great results this month (66% winrate with Face Hunter), as a F2P player, I am not willing to risk 1000 gold for it... Peace, i'm out for this week :(((
I am 99% sure that this feature is not the "new game mode" from Roadmap.
In financial report they said they work on "multiple new ways" to play the game, and that was after BG already started. It is a new way to play kind of, but it's just extended lobby for friends.
I think it was also said in interviews, that they increased the team, so more people work on new modes and features I am pretty sure. New features like upcoming "Battle Pass" for example (or so called, "New Progression"), achievements and so on.
Ben Lee said this year that the new game mode "will be similar in scope and scale to Arena". I doubt he would say so, if this was just a BG feature...
Just be patient and surely, closer to October we will see more on (or maybe even play?) the new game mode :)
It can hardly be called as an "Event"... but, I can see some positives :P
It's nice to have a month-long "roadmap" - so we know what is happening and when :)
I like to know in advance, when Brawliseum will appear, because I can organize my plans, do some things in real life earlier or later, to have more time for Brawliseum. Usually, new Brawl is a surprise, and in the past, I missed Brawliseum, because I just didn't have the time at that moment.
Personally I don't care about BGs, but surely it's a great feature, highly expected.
2. When you have 10-cards in hand - play 1x Embiggen + Hero Power. Repeat for at least few turns, while you collect more Naturalize.
3. In the Late-Game, when you have 5-7 copies of Naturalize and can't play Embiggen anymore... this is your turn. Play 1-mana Patches the Pirate which you kept in mulligan. Play Naturalize on every single copy of Patches the Pirate that you have on the board. Suddenly you are so far ahead in fatigue race, that Rogue has 0 chance to win... (Remember, you also accumulate Armor in the early turns...).
If Rogue decides to play Flik Skyshiv before you do your MILL turn... well, just play Naturalize on it and continue your plan. This way Rogue only speeds up his inevitable loss...
I wrote guide on this, you can check for more if you want. And no, the deck isn't invincible anyways.
Some time ago it worked like this (im not 100% sure if it's still same):
- if you have a tab opened, and muted stream in Twitch Player (!) - your stream might stop playing after some time, therefore - you would not get packs;
- HOWEVER... if you set whatever volume in Twitch Player (above muted !), stream playing... Now if you use Chrome - right click Twitch tab and "mute tab". This way you can even minimize the Chrome browser and it's still playing in the background, Twitch thinks you actively watch it, you get packs :)
The 2nd option is how I do it, works for me :) this way you can do whatever on your PC. Twitch tab does not even need to be the "active" (actually chosen) tab.
I think it is a bad idea honestly, for 1 card to look differently in 3 places. It can be confusing as hell.
However... Introducing just nice alternate arts is great for the game. It gives existing players, or players who care about it, a goal to play towards.
I generally don't care that much about arts in HS... but I can see alternate cards being quite popular, and I think they should have introduced it a damn long time ago. It's a great way to monetize the game.
Congrats on getting Legend :) it's a fun deck for sure, and it's nice to hear it can beat meta-decks too. Getting Legend with fun deck makes grind unnoticable I feel.
In April 2019, in Standard, I was playing BIG Muckmorpher Shaman and I got to Rank 5 in old ranked system. Pretty fun times, so much so that I didn't feel the "grind" on my way to Rank 5 :) it was nice, because usually I was struggling to get to 5, getting unlucky 1-2 stars away and so on.
I know, right? It triggered me too. It's not like we have 10 game modes so they don't want to throw too many numbers at us.
We don't know how much we get in Arena and Duels... I can only presume Casual will have same rewards as Ranked.

It's 7-mana 6/6 Taunt, and Corrupt - it costs 0-mana instead

Can I travel to the future ? :P

It probably won't be constructed, because they said few times and mentioned Arena.
"a lot of that Arena-style gameplay we know and love is going to be present in our new game mode for Phase Two.";
https://www.reddit.com/r/ArenaHS/comments/hol8d4/excerpts_from_dev_interview_regarding_arena_and/
And earlier (in April ?) Ben Lee said, new gamemode will be "similar in scale and scope to Arena" (I don't have link, you can search for it).

I found it funny too, haha :D
Wait what? It is Heroic Brawliseum ???
I guess I didn't read that right when it was announced... I couldn't imagine, they would choose 1000-gold cost Tavern Brawl during so called "3-Week Event"...

Actually, if you just include Naturalize instead of Bloodsail Corsair, you win against Counterfeit Coin and Flik Skyshiv EVERY TIME :)
In the mulligan keep 1x Patches the Pirate and every copy of Naturalize. Mulligan every Embiggen and excess copies of Patches the Pirate
1. In the early game, just Hero Power face.
2. When you have 10-cards in hand - play 1x Embiggen + Hero Power. Repeat for at least few turns, while you collect more Naturalize.

Rogue :) Secret Passage + Counterfeit Coin + Flik Skyshiv

That's 200 IQ response right there :O
Thanks for putting out the idea, I will consider this as well now, writing it down to not forget about it :)
Meanwhile in Wild...
Educated Elekk + 2x Naturalize = Profit ?
You can play it, cast Naturalize on enemy minion and kill Educated Elekk to guarantee you don't get crap shuffled...
This card has so many implications and possibilities in Wild, it's just insane and I love it !
Maybe it can work with Mill, we shall see. On top of that, it can be troll-meme card as well.
