So I actually ran some simulations in my head and in almost all currently existing matchups this is  basically trash.

Best case scenario is you go second, tap on two , then tap on three and play this. That's the fastest you can drop it and the ideal scenario (later on he's just kind of....there).

Against Shaman they can use this time to drop a Vapor on 1, a Custodian on 2, and Whackhammer on 3, which means they not only have more than enough stuff to kill this instantly, but also keep developing their board

Against DH it'S eveen worse because they drop Boar and Beastmaster on curve and trade into this without giviing up tempo.

Priest obviously has SW:D as well as just double Holy Smite or Holy Smite + Plague.

Control Warrior can armor + shieldslam or activate Coerce if need be.

It'S only a 6-drop so it's garbage into Devolving missiles  (and dies to Fireball)

Even fucking Druid can just double tap this with Lunar Eclipse.

This is supposed to be a legendary enabler for Handlock and it is significantly worse than Mountain Giant, which, despite how OP that one was, is kind of pathetic.

It literally could have been saved by adding a keyword, ANY KEYWORD, but no. They couldn't even make it cost 0. Idk, maybe there's some really sick demon synergy yet to come, but I doubt it. Guess Warlock remains in the dumpster because all they're allowed to do is scam Control decks.

Or I could do something useful instead.

I would assume they printed it that way as to not make it an instant win but rather a payoff that allows you to keep tempo while tapping like a madman.

The problem is that there is no reason for it being that fair when so many other decks can snowball way harder for way less effort.

Couldn't they at least add Lifesteal so it has soft taunt?

I don't get why they would print something this pointless and boring. It doesn't have enough health to really slow down or pressure any tempo deck while you're tapping yourself to death.

Why do they hate Warlocks so much?

Really....this is what passes for a Legendary these days?

Come on, I just want Big Demon Warlock to be playable, how is this going to help? Couldn't they at least give it Rush? or Taunt? or Lifesteal?

Would Handlock even be playable in today's meta? Sure, it's not a bad card at all, but I feel like the days of Warlocks just stacking their hands is kind of long gone.

I guess we're doing this again.

Honestly, that might not be such a bad plan. Rogue definitely has the draw now and the ability to shuffle multiple plushies while maintaining tempo and drawing into them on a regular basis doesn't sound horrible

My god, some of you are unreasonably optimistic about this.

Honestly, just about the ideal scenario and realise how bad it is:

You start with 4 cards, one of which is the quest. You spend turn 1 playing it. You then are lucky enough to have both Knight of Anointment and First Day of School in your hand and play both of those, completing 2/3s of step 1. The next turn you play a 1-drop you generated and the Hand of A'dal that you just drew. Step 1 is now complete.

On turn 4 you either find your second First Day or play some other stuff like Wandmaker or one of the miscellaenous 1-drops in your deck. Potentially you finish step 2 here, but more likely that will come turn 5. NOtice how at this point you have gained very little tempo because you've been playing mostly weak 1-drops.

Finally, you can expect to finish the quest around turn 6 or 7, at which point you're hopefully able to play Cariel alongside it. It is only at this point that youre Hero Power becomes actually threatening and you now have the task of gaining back all the tempo you lost before. Additionally, you'lll still have too play your Dreadlord buddy so your hero power turns into an actual win condition instead of a minor annoyance.

At this point any competent aggro or midrange deck will have pushed you off the board so hard that nothing short of Deathwing will ever get your tempo back. The only time when you can actually make it this far and not lose is against the grindiest of Control decks with no win conditions and, as far as I can tell, those aren't going to be around because both Priest and Warlock have better lategame win conditions than you do and we haven't even seen the Warrior Quest yet.

You're literally building your entire deck around playing a gimped version of Jaraxxus in a class without useful removal. There can never exist a meta slow enough for this to work in any capacity. Literal Un'goro Quest Hunter had a more efficient gameplan, got continouus support throughout its life cycle and STILL never made it past meme status.

I implore you, don't ever invest any dust in this, not even recrafting First Day of School, because unless they print some completely absurd Silver Hand synergy this will never be worth it.

Necrium was a failure because it didn't actually make Deathrattle Rogue. It made Cheese Rogue that uses a specific two part combo to just scam the game.

It's like saying Freeze Mage works because Spell MAge runs Brain Freeze

It's not bad but I'll need to see the deathrattles first. If you don't get this on curve it just gets worse later on (unless we have some insane gamewinning deathrattle).

Also, I wonder how this works with certain deathrattles that work with minion stats (like Sergeant Sally)

Well, here we go again. Let's see how they fail to make it work this time

I don't want to call it bad yet, but it seems sort of redundant.

Libram Paladin already has a better version of this and what other Control Paladin deck would there be?

yeah no, spending your turn 1 on the quest, having to play a bunch of weak cards only to then get a card to support your actual gameplan which is summoning a bunch of dudes.

This is literally just Un'goro Quest Hunter except somehow worse

Basically super Fungalmancer but only for Demons...which means it's not gonna work because ever since they removed Voidwalker things just haven't been the same

Assuming we're getting a decent amount of new Fel spells and assuming some of those are damage boosts of some sort then this could be a legit finisher in...some kind of deck. I have no idea what that could be, but gaining a ton of attack and smacking your opponent with it sounds pretty good.

I have no idea what to do with this, but it costs 2-mana so it cannot be bad.
