The nerf to Renathal saddens me but I was prepared for it seeing as it changed the game rules and it was the most used legendary according to HSReplay. My only irk is the Dev comment for the nerf. The meta wasn't warped around Renathal, he was popular coz players enjoy playing control decks. Yes it led to longer games but players were still having fun.
I have a feeling all the priest mirrors in the world championship also led to this nerf.
As for the rest of them, goodbye miracle priest and rogue! I hated those decks mostly* coz I'm too noob to play them properly 🙃
I really like the design of SeS. Unlike spell only Hunter from the Rumble days, Scythe incentives selectively choosing 3 high power level minions (usually legendary minions) to work with the rest of the deck. Jace and Xy'mox are the most obvious inclusions in the current meta due to the current DH synergies but I'm keen to see if this weapon can keep up after Standard rotation once Jace takes a hike to wild.
Ofc, the League of Explorers have to retire after the next Standard rotation, that's a given. My only hope it that Team 5 replace the whole Core set for next year. Not just some selective cards sprinkled about for each class. The main reason for the core set was to change up the meta and have no ever green cards for the next "Year of the X". Most of the core sets cards are still from 2021 when it was originally introduced. C'mon Blizzard, replacing the whole core set will be more of a positive than a negative and I'm all for it.
While I'm fine with the balance nerfs I'm a tab bit disappointed that Team 5 didn't pick up the patron/Corpse Explosion interaction during internal play testing. It should not be up to the community to find these broken interactions. Team 5 need to setup test automation to run through each of these scenarios, even if it's as simple as for eg: Play X Minion with Corpse Explosion = see results, then repeat with another minion. I.E. combinatorial testing
This game is getting bigger and bigger with each expansion and it's clearly obvious that Team 5's QA can't keep up.
Yup correct. I played both The Scourge and Lord Marrowgar so that would've been 14 undead with those 2 cards alone and the quest only progressed to 7/15.
[Added 12/6] We are temporarily disabling pack openings for Standard Packs and Class Packs while we investigate a potential issue with those packs.
How hilarious we finally get a bug that's beneficial to players and Blizzard disable packs within an hour. Can't have everyone getting too many legendaries, even if they the drab signature ones 😅
And I laugh that they call it an "issue". It's an issue for Blizzard, not for players
In all honestly, it'll probably be worth it in the long run seeing as you'd get 3 legendaries. Where on average you'd only get 1 legendary if you spent the gold on packs.
Guess I'm opening 76 packs with gold instead of 96... I'm just hoping at least 50% of the cards are usable in the upcoming meta.
Having KotFT in Standard for a month just goes to show how much the power level has risen since 2017. As mentioned above, there was only a handful of cards that saw play in the existing meta. The 1 card that surprised me the most was Forge of Souls as it managed to pull Warrior out of the dumpster.
It should be noted that we'll see many more Unholy DKs running around at the beginning of the expansion seeing as most unholy cards reside in the core set. I still refuse to buy the Path of Arthas set so am hoping Frost DK is the weakest out of the 3 regardless of the DK show match results.
Overall, I think most* of these gameplay achievements are easier than previous expansions. The only RNG related 1 is Cheese Touch and it shouldn't be that difficult to complete seeing as Sire Denathrius will probably still be a menace
Also, a little "hack" on those mega bundle giveaways 😉 watch a smaller content creator with less viewers for a higher chance of getting a mega bundle. You're also supporting the smaller HS content creators which is never a bad thing either.
That's strange, I swear I saw Celestalon talking about how Halduron Brightwing couldn't have a signature card coz of the artwork. Did I miss something?
Awesome site updates and good luck to everyone participating in the giveaway!
Let's listen to some sick Lich King tunes while we throw snowballs: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nw7b4NzUyG8

Agreed. My first assumption was that this was fake news but then I remember Flux wouldn't do that to us 😏
I figured it was for snap after right clicking and inspecting the html (icon-game icon-game-marvel-snap)
Unfortunately this "trick" won't reveal any answers though 😉

This card seems quite appropriate for this page 🙃

If Shatterskin Gargoyle was printed a few years ago, it'd be playable. So this just goes to show how much power level has risen in recent years.
Must...resist...buying...Path of Arthas...

Foul Fowl is pretty hilarious and I expect Blizzard to top this next expansion. Bring on all the cheesy puns!
Think it's also worth mentioning that some content creators are also doing giveaways on Youtube, like Zeddy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_wV3VFiCeI4

Zeddy confirmed in this video that the tavern pass has the same value as previous ones.
But we should be seeing more events like the DK and Winter veil ones that should*** give us more rewards to make up for the new class.
