How is nobody excited that we finally got a Tauren hero portrait?

I think it's just that you have to go and individually click on each achievement when you've earned a bunch at once, and that you have to scroll down to look for the achievements. But come on, it's 2 extra clicks. It's not that big of a deal.

EDIT: Either that or he's talking about the achievement points having no current monetary value. I mean, why is this an issue? You have no obligation to hunt achievements except for bragging rights. Again, it's not a big deal.

Many people probably don't share this sentiment, but I think there are enough cardbacks of cakes and cupcakes and other pastry stuff (also probably because I don't have much of a sweet tooth). Personally, I'd instead like to see more savoury-themed cardbacks like the pizza one. How about a pasta themed one? Or even one that references Chef Nomi's "roast"?

One thing I'm really hoping to come from Blizzard is the apparent goofiness they seemed to have embraced. The reveals for DMF and Duels were way better than most of the others, mainly because they kinda let themselves go off the board a little. I realise that all these reveals are scripted, but something about the way they've been doing them recently feels more like the writers had a bit more freedom, making them feel way more natural.

Despite everything people say, I think the game is in a good place. I am having fun and I'm able to be competitive while being completely F2P. Sure, the game's got problems, but all games have problems. I'm personally very excited for what's going to be revealed in this Blizzcon.

That Hungry Crab clip reminds me of the Witchwood reveal stream when Day9 pulled a Hungry Crab off Jeweled Macaw against a Nightmare Amalgam. Ben Brode's reaction could cure cancer.

    Here's the link, it's a 44:36.

My friend got one of these, and I passed on it because I didn't think there would be much beyond what is seen in the card frames in Hearthstone. And boy, was I wrong. It's actually insane how much more there is to the art in Heartstone's cards than is actually seen in game.

While we're on the topic of art that isn't seen very well in game, it's a real shame that you can't see card backs with that much detail, especially because a lot of them look really nice. I wish the deck-holder thing was slightly different so that you could actually see a player's cardback a bit clearer, maybe similar to what Runeterra has.

Peoples' expectations of cards against reality are very often wrong. Remember Glide? [Hearthstone Card (Star Student Stellina) Not Found]? Prince Keleseth? Mecha'thun? Besides, it's fun to collect new cards and theories decks, even if they aren't tier 1.

@Kerrek on this thread did the math and figured out that if you buy 20 packs instead of the bundle (assuming you have all the commons and rares from DMF), you'll end up with 5 fewer rares, 3 fewer legendaries, 2 more epics and about 300 more dust. If you have all the epics, then instead of 2 more epics you'll have about 500 dust. And even if you buy the bundle and decide you don't like the legendaries, you can very easily dust them and end up with 3 epics of your choice, instead of the random pack ones. I have all the commons and rares from DMF, so 2000 gold for 66 guaranteed, chosen cards feels like way better value than a maximum of 2 random epics and maybe 1 legendary.

Now, if you're hoarded packs for this miniset and you couldn't care less about the legendaries and you're missing some cards from DMF, then sure, it makes sense to just crack open the packs. If you don't like the cards, then there's nothing I can do to convince you otherwise.

Assuming the cards are playable (which is probably very likely), all the cards for $15 or 2000 gold is great. Unfortunately, such a system probably won't work for the normal expansion, since the pricing and value of the cards & packs will vary and create problems amongst players. Maybe they can instead sell specific sets of cards, like $10 for all the legendaries of the set (the price chosen was random, I just picked some number)?

Also, we haven't yet gotten a solo adventure this expansion. Are they being put on hold until Book of Heroes is finished or are we not getting one for DMF at all?

    Rant warning.

I'm probably the only person that's sad about Edwin leaving standard. An early giant Edwin is no fun for the opponent, and I agree that a class probably shouldn't have a card that can be played in virtually any Rogue deck until the end of time. But say what you want, I like Edwin both as a character and as a card, so I will about losing him.

That said, this does allow Blizzard to be a bit freer when creating combo-related cards. Cards like Foxy Fraud and others that may not have made it into Hearthstone were probably held back due to Edwin.

As for him "rotating", but not getting hall-of-famed... I don't understand, and I suppose we won't until we have more information about it. I can imagine a few scenarios as to what this may mean:

    1. They're just renaming the hall of fame, and maybe changing some of the rules regarding it (allowing expansion cards to be HoF'd, bringing HoF cards back?).
    2. There will be a rotating classic set. I fail to see how this makes the game easier for players with a limited collection since the point of an evergreen set was to be helpful to players with a limited collection.
    3. There will be a complete abolishment of the evergreen set. This seems likely considering Blizzard's new mid-set thing, and it solves a lot of problems regarding the classic set. It also enables quite a bit of freedom amongst class identities. However, we will lose lots of staple cards, such as Shield Block, Wild Growth, Swipe, Shadow Word: Death, Shadow Word: Pain, Acidic Swamp Ooze, Tracking, Kill Command, Animal Companion (never Huffer again), the list goes it. On the plus side, cards like Blackjack Stunner hint towards Blizzard printing variants of a card that already exists.
    4. Adding onto a potential abolishing of the evergreen set, Blizzard may start reprinting cards like MtG. Perhaps reprinting Sap and Blessing of Kings for an expansion that has a lot of buffs. Or reprinting Voidwalker if they want to push Zoolock for an expansion. Or reprinting cards midway through an expansion, perhaps during a balance patch, in order to address certain class weaknesses.

I like the idea that even if one of you (somehow) makes an incorrect prediction, you can change the website's rating so it aligns with your predictions. Reality can literally be whatever you want.

Of course I open a golden N'Zoth, God of the Deep and nobody's playing him.

Also, here's another point to people saying that Pure Paladin is still at the top of the meta: People will complain if the new decks overtake the meta ("this is just powercreep, I can't afford all these cards") and people will complain if the old decks are still strong ("Blizzard sucks at gauging power levels, this game has become stagnant"). I'd say 60-70% of the decks I face are built around new cards. This is the perfect balance between allowing people to experiment with new cards and decks, while people that aren't able to craft all the new cards can still find success with the old decks. This is arguably the best possible situation. We shouldn't be complaining about this, it's the best of both worlds for casual, hardcore and for-fun players.

I like how this article is "the top standard decks", and Big Priest has a sub 50% winrate. Kind of a shame that many Scholomance decks are dominating with very few Darkmoon cards, but it keeps my wallet very happy, so I'm a little conflicted.

That said, I'm having a blast playing the Darkmoon Faire decks I can make (N'Zoth Paladin and Evolve Shaman). These last two expansions have been a ton of fun for me.

You can't even say that a pack is equivalent to 100 gold. Maybe Darkmoon Faire packs can be considered to be worth 100 gold, but even Scholomance or Ashes of Outlands packs are worth much less than 100 gold. A normal player would much rather have the packs from the current expansion.

However, I do share your sentiment that we shouldn't lose faith in this battle pass yet. Sure, this is probably a marketing scheme, but at the very least I believe that Blizzard is far from the level of Bethesda with Fallout 76.

Of all the classes, Shaman seems to be the one class that gets the most "what on EARTH is this thing's purpose for existing?" cards. Magicfin aside, I quite like all the revealed cards, but it remains to be seen if anything meaningful comes out of it. I saw a few people play a Y'Shaarj, the Defiler Shaman OTK deck during the theorycrafting stream: once you get Corrupt the Waters online, you play Tour Guide, and next turn you hero power and play Y'Shaarj, the Defiler getting millions of corrupted Dunk Tanks and Circus Medics. This deck seems the most promising considering Shaman's truly exceptional control tools, but it unfortunately doesn't make use of any of the Enhancement Shaman cards revealed.

The obvious answer is just "ignore and go face 4Head". I realise it's quite a non-answer, but I really don't know how else to deal with it. It seems like quite a polarising treasure, since it's quite bad against Warrior and Mage, but really powerful against almost every other class.

This is really awesome, but I must admit I was slightly disappointed that the legendary cards sounds didn't come with their music, especially for cards like Griftah and Armagedillo. I'm not shunning your work by any means (I could never do something like this), but maybe this could be a feature worth adding.

EDIT: I just noticed there's a way to play the intro music of the card separately: you have to click on the card name, then scroll down below the flavour text and press "intro". It's kinda hard to listen to the voiceline and the music at the same time, but I appreciate that it was not forgotten.

What I like about this system is that it rewards playtime and not whether you win or lose. You don't get gimped out of gold if you have a bad day and can't win a single game. Additionally, it looks like you'll get the same amount of XP if you play twelve 5-minute games with aggro and if you play two 30-minute games with a control deck, allowing players to not be disadvantaged by playing slower decks. And if the numbers Blizzard showed are valid, all players (except the super-hardcore) shouldn't feel any difference in the gold they gain per expansion. Perhaps this battle pass isn't as bad as we were worried about.

Is there going to be an "artifact" card for each old god? We've already got Jewel of N'Zoth and now Idol of Y'Shaarj. I predict Idol of Yogg-Saron is going to be a random Mage spell.
