That is probably their ongoing consideration as well. For consistency sake, I expect that only one of these two implementations will survive in the end. At this moment, I expect these Standard highlander cards will get their texts reverted when they rotate to Wild. There should be some kind of counterplay against these highlander decks.

Exactly, the way they implemented it and the reason they gave for it is so obviously a blatant lie that I do not understand why anyone would defend this insane change. I can understand that less casual players do not feel the change in requirements because it fits easily in their existing weekly playtime schedule (heck, it does not even really affect my own schedule by the way), but everyone has to agree that it is a net devalue of playtime vs XP ratio. Accepting this quest update silently just means widening the door for more similar future detrimental adjustments.

Nobody is trying to convince any other HS player to leave the game, but we have to speak up and let Blizzard know this is a bad decision and implementation.

Basically, each and every Hearthstone player has their own comfortzone. Some players have bigger or smaller comfortzones than others. Blizzard is implementing these negative changes in increasingly rapid fashion which affect everyone playing this game. People who are leaving or about to leave Hearthstone have smaller comfortzones. If Blizzard continues this downwards trend, eventually more and more players will reach their outer edge and have a tough decision to make. Time is a precious resource which can only be used once. Nothing more, nothing less.

Sidenote, if I remember correctly Microsoft wanted to acquire Activision Blizzard mostly because of Call of Duty. Hearthstone was just another digital cardgame that came along with it. They were probably never really interested in this game. Since it is not making enough money for them compared to their other games, they see no value in spending resources on it. After milking Hearthstone dry, the plug will eventually be pulled I think.

I share the same feelings as you all have expressed so sincerely. Hearthstone used to be a fun game, but corporate decisions have made the overall user experience go downhill over time with no signs of getting better unfortunately.

I have been a loyal customer over the past 10 years, but I have not felt being valued as such for awhile. The latest change to the weekly quests was another slap in our faces. Although I could go on as F2P for several years to come, there is little to no enjoyment left in this game. I should drop this game immediately, but I will stay just a bit longer and finish my last few in game achievements (as personal closure) before finally slamming the door shut behind me. Blizzard will never get another dime from me.

Well, the expected response has been announced. Everything is still going according to their plans. The XP part remains capped as is apparently, so let us see how 'much' they will dial down the requirements part. I bet my left shoe it will still be quite disproportional, but how far apart they will be after the update is now the question.

Blizzard is literally saying: "We want you all to work much longer, but overall you are going to be paid less (XP) for it."

Now imagine your boss would say something to you like this, what would your response to such insanity be? 🤔

Obviously, they want players to spend more time in the game. Adding incremental tiers on top of the quests would have done the trick, really. They clearly have the technology available, just copy and paste it from the existing achievements system. Everything would be the same for the casuals and more engaged players would have something extra to work towards and thus play more. Instead they chose the bad option to lump everyone together and make things much worse for most people and also mess with the XP versus requirements ratio.

Ultimately, if the updated weekly quests are going to be still too disproportional, then make them infinitely rerollable. Let players mulligan these ridiculous quests over and over, so at the very least we can decide how to suffer through the most appealling ones in order to still get the XP.

If the increase in XP was equal to the increase in the requirements, the community outcry would be far less. This will probably be another 'debacle' like when the new Rewards Track was first introduced. It will most likely be dialed back a tiny little bit to the amount they were aiming for anyways. Anything extra beyond that amount would have been a bonus. A portion of the community will (actively) support this decision. Why? I do not know. Yes, XP is 20% more but the requirements are 200% more. These are clearly not equal proportional increases.

Blizzard is seemingly telling people like me who have been loyal for a decade and are already on the verge of quitting to finally call it a day. After playing for 10 years and having spent a considerable amount of money on Hearthstone, I have completed almost everything there is to complete in this game (53870 achievement points). This might actually be the final needed push for me personally. I was thinking of completing the last few remaining achievements left to do and probably go on a hiatus or downright uninstalling afterwards, but maybe this will happen sooner rather than later now. As a completionist myself, this is really frustrating to me. What a disappointment in the anniversary year of Hearthstone!

Finally, the bot problem has been addressed properly (until the next agreement suspension) 😋

Anyone has a clue what the five new Core achievements are about? You can get a special Labyrinth cardback as the reward.

I missed the memo where the Magic Arena realm was removed (404) when accessing from the header menu.

Was this by design or is it a bug?

EDIT: I think someone made a typo in the routing, the URL should end with / instead of *

    Same.

My stats tell me that I have 3600+ wins in Duels and till date I am still busy trying to complete the related achievements which are at 75% now. Will Team 5 get rid of these achievements as well perhaps?

Really seems like they are actively axing all game modes which do not generate enough revenue. Where does it stop though, I wonder?

Long time no see by the way, welcome back ☺️

Wow anchorm4n, that is some mighty impressive statistics keeping of yours! I used to think I was a stats nerd, but this is next level compared to my spreadsheets. Kudos!

As for my personal goal for 2024 regarding Hearthstone (in its anniversary year), I am still trying to get as close to the maximum percentages for all achievements.

The last Battlegrounds achievement I have to complete is Spicy Pretzel Mustard and I will need all the luck in the world to do so.

Getting four out of the five achievements categories to 100% is almost within reach, but the last one will sadly never reach 100% because I simply do not enjoy playing Arena.

Cho'gall, Twilight Chieftain gets buffed by adding the following whacky anomaly to its pool:

    Anomaly - Ogre-Draw

Whenever a player draws a card, 50% chance to draw a copy from the opponent's deck instead.

    😆
