I am pretty confident they will give us dust refunds for the Warlock and Neutral excavate cards. Is it really a lot of dust though? Looking back at the wildseed nerfs, we got dust refunds for all related cards which is worth a bit more dust actually.
Honestly, I would even be perfectly okay if they would exclude Tram Conductor Gerry from the dust refund.
I made a deck with only 7 cards, thinking "oh sweet, I'll have so many copies of these awesome cards" but no.
Put a decent amount of cards in your deck, or you will have a hand of Reflections with nothing to play!
Even with a 12 card deck and after the mulligan, there is still a high chance of getting a full hand of Shadow Reflections. I simply conceded and started another game. With Astral Automaton and Priest cards that copy and resurrect this minion over and over again, a sure win is bound to happen. I got the Standard pack and never turned back because this one-and-done brawl is pretty dumb.

So they finally decided to adjust amount of XP which can be farmed in Mercenaries. We all knew this was bound to happen eventually, but still sad when it happens. I fear it will be a very significant reduction.
Although you are probably right about the F2P aspect, for people like me who are only interested in a "free" hero portrait it is better to have the gold cost as low as possible which seems to be a 1000 gold.
For me personally it is a gold sink at this moment. My FOMO is acting up again and I am now spending my gold on each and every hero portrait that becomes available for gold. I already counted that I have nowhere near enough gold to obtain all of the 133 missing hero portraits, but I will try as long as I possibly can.
And no, it is not devious at all, because I do not have to collect these cosmetics, I just "need" to, lol 😂
My DK wins are on track to overtake my DH wins; the class is just a better fit for me.
I'm sure you've worked your way through the various Achievements, so maybe you'd like to invent a few for yourself. For example, there were a couple years (not recently, and not Heroic) where I would win the Tavern Brawl with every class. Taught me some interesting lessons.
Perhaps you'd like to play every card in your collection at least once? Give them all a chance to shine!

Since I am an achievement hunter myself, most of them have already been completed by me. Currently, I am doing the Restless Reader achievement coz it has finally been fixed.
Afterwards, I will most likely clear the list of Duels achievements. It seems my only motivation to play Hearthstone nowadays is directly linked to completing achievements.
EDIT: Restless Reader achievement finally completed, luckily I did not need both of the two still bugged lore books.
Since it is still summertime, getting a 1000 Death Knight wins happened way sooner than I previously anticipated. I guess messing around with Plague DK in Duels was just too much fun! 😅
The next new class (likely Monk) is not due for at least another year, so what is going to be my following challenge in Hearthstone, I wonder? Suggestions perhaps, anyone?
I purchased the Tavern Pass for the Titans ... and I got the pass for the previous expansion !!!***@@@@!!
The latest Tavern Pass always becomes available when the new expansion launches, so it should not even be possible to purchase the new Titans Tavern Pass before August 1st. I always buy these on expansion launch day, to not miss out on any bonus XP and goodies.
Perhaps they are willing to refund this honest mistake.
I can already expect at least 1 quest will require us to forge cards X number of times
For sure, let us hope the maximum number will not be enormous. I hope for 50 which is more than enough, but it will probably at least double this number if not even greater which would suck.
EDIT: You will need to forge 200 times to clear the entire achievement, so annoying!
It has been awhile since my last post and I forgot to share my 500 wins with the Death Knight class, but I guess 666 DK wins will do just fine instead. I expect to reach the next major DK milestone, by playing casual duels mostly, probably somewhere during autumn later this year.
I am curious to know how your 2023 grind has been so far?
It seems that the number of weekly hero skins purchasable with gold has doubled. Our gold stash will deplete twice as fast now.

I really like that you can buy more hero portraits for gold now, but man is it turning into a huge gold sink. Still worth it though.
Walking Fountain's big daddy, I really love the flavor of the new expansion.
Most of them are fine, but I am just trying to complete the new XP achievements so I am not bothered by taking losses on the ranked ladder.
The anomaly which gives +5 HP should stack on top of Prince Renathal's ability, but it does not which is incorrect IMO.
I will be glad when they become optional again after a week.
Btw, the new Shaman achievement is buggy; destroyed enemy tokens do not seem to count towards the progress.
