Completely want to underscore this. Regis has been saying this for a couple years now - that he'd like to see others get a chance to be in the spotlight because of the success he's enjoyed and is enjoying.
I hit level 60 tonight. Got a legendary, Magtheridon, from my 9th Year of the Phoenix pack. I have been grinding achievements for the extra XP - I have 6 left.
This is the burn shaman deck I was using on ladder. Climbed from Gold(?) to Diamond 4 with it. It's the same list from the article that was on the HS home page on the site - one of the "Top Pro Decks" ones from 3 days ago.
Agreed, burn shaman was working really well against lunacy mage for me a couple days ago. Felt very competitive, even favored. I climbed to diamond 4 with an achievement (nature spell damage) focused deck
Thanks for the great write-ups and tips! Really appreciate the notes. I started farming the XP achievements on the 30th as soon as the expansion dropped. I am a little over 70% done according to the in-client tracker.
My feeling is that generally the requirements are a little easier than in Darkmoon Faire (less legendaries required for sure), but some of them feel awfully grindy and take forever. I started out with the druid taunt one (Plaguemaw) and never drew him so I moved onto another class, and haven't gone back yet.
I opened a total of 243 Barrens packs yesterday (140 from the pre-orders, 100 from gold, and 3 from a lapsed Arena run and the two that you get early in the Rewards track). I was very fortunate to get the entire set except for two legendaries: Xyrella and Guff Runetotem. I also had the 5 golden packs from the large pre-order bundle. It's the second expansion in a row where my pack opening has been really excellent - averaged a legendary in just over every 15 packs.
I had one pack with two legendaries in it, and opened a golden Scabbs Cutterbutter in another.
Given how well Day One went, I won't need to buy any other Barrens based bundles to target guaranteed legendaries, and will either eventually craft the two I am missing or use dust to backfill my Wild/Classic collection a little more.
As I, and many people have said before, duplicate protection on all rarities of cards has been one of the best things Blizzard has done for how the HS economy "feels" to paying players like me. Getting 100% of rares in about 60 packs and 100% of epics in a set in about double that feels way better than getting stuck with 4 copies of Furnacefire Colossus or Sul'thraze!
Another issue: I opened 3 Classic Packs after the reset/update today and they did not give me the 3-4 HOF commons and rares that I did not have 2-ofs. They were not cards I had ever owned previously (I don't disenchant cards that I don't have duplicates of). Pretty bummed about that.
I am talking about cards like Conceal, Power Overwhelming and Azure Drake that were all HOF'ed before my Classic card collection had grown materially.
I finished the DMF Rewards track part way into level 332.
I bought the pass and it was well worth it for me. I have over 20,000 gold saved since the end of Scholomance (after supplementing my pre-order packs with some gold purchased packs). I won't be spending all of that hoard on Barrens Packs, I may save some for older expansions or any cosmetics they bring in for gold.
I saw a streamer playing Even Paladin a couple days ago - can confirm: Crabrider is an incredible 2-drop addition to that archetype. If you can get one to stick, there are many excellent buffs which make it a mid-game powerhouse or fast finisher.

I'm at level 89 today, nearly 90. Not playing as much the last 1-2 weeks. Logging on for dailies and then that's about it.
Death Knight all the way. Would be happy with either though to be fair.

I will be buying the Tavern Pass for FitB.

The same thing happened to me (completed the Warrior achievement, but was playing Zoolock in Classic).
