I only had time for a handful of games in the mode yesterday - feeling a bit burned out after grinding DH to level 60 before the Core set release.
I enjoyed the classic experience. The games felt fun, and decided on a knife's edge - by that I mean they were crazy close, settled by decisions made turns earlier - whether to get a value trade or to push damage when I could. It's not as full feeling as other modes in HS, but it's definitely a place I will enjoy laddering and playing a different feeling brand of HS.
For the record - I love hunter. Hunter was my first class to 500 wins by a long, long shot. I bought the Sylvanas skin the first time she was offered in the shop for cash because a) I thought the art was incredible, b) the price felt reasonable to me, and c) she's such a cool, conflicted character from WoW and HS lore. No disrespect intended to Rexxar, or any other Hunter. I've never regretted the purchase.
I am excited for the rewards track Rexxar skin, looks awesome too.
I am halfway through level 318. The last few days I've been grinding (playing a lot of hours) a meme big demon Demon Hunter in dumpster legend (standard) this month trying to get DH leveled up to 60 before Core launches. I have 19,600 gold saved - have not used a coin since Darkmoon Faire's launch day (bought most pack bundles, after using previous gold to supplement pre-ordered DMF packs).
I will buy the Tavern pass again for Forged in the Barrens because I like the XP boost and I think the cosmetics this time around are excellent. I don't yet know how much of my 19,000+ gold I will use on packs at Barrens launch - I think I will see how my legendary take is after I open my pre-order bundles.
Congrats to the winners! The competition was fun, and it definitely got me more engaged with card reveal season than I have ever been previously.
I have seen a couple streamers opening packs today already, so today appears to be the day.

The only Hunter portrait you'll ever need.

Cool effect, maybe might see play in standard secret paladin.
Poisons seem pretty strong with any rogue weapon that can be buffed for more that 2-3 charges.
Could work nicely in a menagerie archetype in Standard?
This looks like a good zoo card, but it's such a pretty refined archetype. We'll see if it makes the cut.
I think if it were one mana cheaper it would be incredible for a control priest deck. It may still be.
Seems very strong for archetypes that already have a foundation in Druid.
I love handbuff archetypes, also taunt ones. So this is support for both.
This card is one of the few that I am most excited about in this expansion. Really hope that I unpack her!
Seems OK. Strong at higher levels, but do you want to get to that point in the game? I guess it is flexible and a fair cost for that.
This looked very strong at points during the theory-crafting streams that I saw yesterday.
The comparisons to Landscaping are so on point - this is a better card for an aggro, swarm deck.
Very strong card at the higher ranks, and no combo conditionality.
Seems like a good tutor, and as others have said, this is like 2x hero powers for one mana.
It will be a fun archetype to try out - always looking for different ways to approach DH.
