Casual players are not necessarly poor f2p players, but simply those who play sporadically and non-competitively. They are not taking the game seriously nor they progress at full speed. Like me in MtG:A before; I had one deck there and played once a week some memes, not knowing much.
Many f2p players are fully focused, aware and knowledgeable about the game and grind for every piece of resource.
And the outlay of this Battlepass screws both these players, together with those who pay something. This only satisfy / encourages casuals by giving them to open 10-15 packs more throughout a season for their one deck in hope some percentage of that huge player-base will start paying money eventually.
This system screws paying and competitive players even more. Casuals don't care much do they get 5 or 10 or 30... packs whenever (for their 1 deck). I'm buying small pre-orders (50-60 packs) on top of c. 100 packs from gold, because I think that number is the breaking point of what I need in HS. There's no point for me to ever buy that pre-order on top of freaking 39 packs! Because now I would need to buy 2 or 3x more packs (which I will not). Additionally, I couldn't care less about postponed packs, older random packs and stupid digital cosmetics.
Taking freedom of earning gold from us is such a disgusting move it's unbelievable. These restrictions, forced redirection are a huge downgrade, 100% fake, it's like going back to TV era where they forced programs on you, instead of letting me rather freely pick on internet what I want to consume. And it's funny how they present this as "an improvement".
Unless they make this crappy system 3x as rewarding at minimum, this will be laughable and the only result will be making me not spending money on HS anymore. They demand more money from people who barely decided to give them any. Holy shit! They're really screwing invested players recently over gaining new casuals who will never start spending their money anyway. Nor will paying ones willingly pay more.
Well, it seems that Druid isn't the only one busted. Other decks break the game with high-rolls of their own! :D I experienced many non-games, something like... 100 stats on turn 2... or turn 9 on turn 2... Things hardly ever seen in HS, not even in Wild. Sometimes some match-ups look like 0% and sometimes you beat the same deck like it's 100%.
So, Druid is insane.
Paladin with Alura even more so, it seems...
Tempo - buff Priest, also with Alura, is crazy. Lucilia is disgusting as you could imagine.
Some say no to Fragment Warlock, but Theo is doing really good.
I'm 12-5 with aggro-tempo Rouge. Feels very smooth. That 1/2 Mage drop is nuts. Passage doesn't even feel that broken when compared with other op cards.
I see some small aggro builds of Druid, DH, Shaman (totem) that i feel are okay, idk. Early blowouts.
Nobody plays Hunter? If Hunter sees play it will be some old stuff, but players are probably trying new decks only now.
Warrior... no idea, but will be fine once refined.
I saw a lot of garbage Mage decks. Something must be refined there...
So, ramp, mana-cheat, high-roll, disruption cards lead the way, as expected.
I retained 10* stars for Wild. Ended as Platinum 10.
But, oh boy, was I surprised after receiving 11* stars reward for Standard ladder!!!

I have no idea why my reward jumped to 11*. I don't play that much anymore. My last Legend was in May (got 10*), so no Legend in June for me. Rumors are telling one need to be top-1500 to get 11*?!?
Am I that good, lol?! Or I maintain a good MMR by not playing much or vs. worse players and not vs. top legends, but then... I'm certainly better then my current opponents and current rank? Skill level feels a lot worse than before. Only really top legends know how to play this game and I think they are the most screwed by this new MMR system.
Yeah, when you sometimes can lose more by playing than not, tells us how strange and complicated is the new system. :P
I also heard if e.g. rank 2 player faces a Legend, it's only because he was 11 stars sometimes before. If you are rank 2, but 10 stars previously, you can't face legend players, but pre rank 5, 10 stars players can! ...Just hearing those rumors.
Anyway, thanks for the reply. I'll see tomorrow will I find some energy to play couple of Wild games.
My usual rank in Wild is Diamond 5+, but in June I was only something like Platinum 8 and this month I played only 3 or 4 games.
Do you think I will lose a star this month?
For some reason I'm bored playing Wild, but there are 3-4 days left and maybe I can force myself playing it a bit to stop MMR decay. Is MMR decay a thing? Do I need to just win a bunch of games, or reach Diamond 5 to keep 10 stars bonus? Well, even if I lose a star, next time more effort will be needed to reach Diamond 5, but streaks still work there (unlike later).

I heard you are matched according to MMR all the way to your class (1 star), after that you're not matched by MMR, but by class/rank. It's noticeable, because, e.g. my climb from 5 to Legend was easier, because people played worse and worse decks.

As I predicted, Druid is broken, namely Kael'thas Sunstrider. It was so obvious and yet again they f****d up. :)
My guess is that Druid will break the game tomorrow. So much ramp, mana cheating and payoffs...
Proud that I gave a 1 to Chameleos, Revenge of the Wild and Feast of Souls. My biggest miss was thinking Bazaar Burglary will be the top tear. Well, it still has some chance, especially this x-pack. Madame Lazul sees play now in Scam Priest.
