I had really high hopes for LoR, even invested some money, but the game failed to live up to the hype. It's not dead, but... it will not be successful.

It's very F2P friendly. Don't spend any money. You simply don't need to.

    Art is okay.

Limited Format is actually the best thing. I guess.

On the first sight, design seems cool, but then you realize something is off. Although strategic, tactical and complex "just enough", many pieces obstruct each other and the whole. In HS keywords can live side by side, but not in LoR, they obstruct each other there. Those keywords which exploit what is supposed to be the fundamental rule of the game (-> blocking system), arise and shut down everything else. Any attempt to fix is like running in a circle. Only complete rework would help here, which is unlikely. LoR team is stuck with design mistakes, because they started by adding a content which undermines the fundamental rules (another example, if you block and kill, your opponent activates removals against you). It's a question, do they see that at all, all the contradictions. Some of their plans are laughable, like having 10 meta decks, while now we don't have more than 3, and all are just variations. Some cards and interactions are too much exploitable and feel like cheap tricks. The devs were light-minded when they thought it will be easy to address some problems of card games in general.

Another problem is that ...3 copies of a card, low rng, consistency, similar cards, always the same way of answering... make the game monotone and tedious rather fast. Emotional aspect is just inferior to HS, where you have silly effects, sounds, art and overall presentation that keeps you interested. Plus some rng (which is awful (Alex, Zephrys, 0 mana cards...), but now I see monotony is much worse).

Secretly, we don't like when opponents interfere with our decks, hand and turn.

Although complex and needs a bit more skill, when i came back to HS, I realized HS has enough of big brain decisions making, too.

The game is fine, it will provide you with some epic games and moments, but HS is better and will prevail. HS is more fun, better emotionally, more approaches... LoR Twitch numbers are quite low, which is awful for a game which wanted to seriously compete with HS.

I still play the game, but occasionally, just a game or two, for a quest or two. I may play it more when they add more content or after getting a bit tired from HS. Good economy system allows just that, to be something secondary.

I already spent a token and won 3 games. Will my expedition be canceled at 3 wins (or however) if I don't finish it (win 7 / lose 2 in the row) until the Vault opening? Will I be able to continue playing my current Expedition next week?

What happens with my Expedition Trial(s) if I don't finish them before the next Vault opening (week)?

I dislike limited formats. Because, they're boring, I suck or can't stand what game is offering me (choosing between bad and bad...). In the earlier trial, I got thousands of spells, bad and replicated cards, while my opponents, every one of them got nuts, insane synergies and insane curves. I was thinking spending shards on Expeditions, but now I see it's not worth my nerves. In essence, not different from HS Arena (inconsistent and unpredictable fiesta). Constructed is much more enjoyable for me. Still, need to do these free runs.

What would you choose here? I don't like any of the choices. Even if I would take something, there's an awful card in the same bundle. Ancient Crocolith seems terrible; what guarantees me I'll be able to make enough synergies for it to work (and why at all)? It sucks with what I already picked. But Kalista seems the least bad from the list of offered champions. Ezreal dies by a spittle. Karma gives at least some value and 'not totally bad' tempo, but why Solitary Monk, doesn't feel good with my midrange Garen stuff I would like to build.

    What's a good spells / minions ratio?

I really got only one (run). Do you need to reach 7? I didn't.

We have 3 free Expedition entries? I thought we got only one token.

Exactly, useful only for tracking stats, otherwise very clunky (UI) and unnecessary for LoR type of gameplay. I'd like Tracker captures gameplay like HS Deck Tracker.

Anyway, I cannot describe how good this card game is. They were telling us how every move matters and they were correct. I already experienced so many dramatic games in which a single point of mana, a single point of damage or waste of a removal...  decided the whole thing! Not even talking about numerous ways to exploit order and sequences.

Don't know why, but I keep winning with this deck (r3/r2). My score with other Wild decks is so-so, with ups and downs, usually average, especially with more complex non-aggro decks, because of how unstable the format is. But with Even Warlock it's surprisingly going really good. My Wild (and HS in general) involvement is average, which means I'm not playing it like crazy all day and night, so this appraisal is coming from a small sample size - of c. 35 games = c. 70% winrate. Am i good with the deck or it's really viable on its own, not sure, but the fact is I'm winning a lot, especially in comparison with other seemingly better decks.

I removed Zzeraku the Warped and replaced it with another Abyssal Summoner. The card is so good as it provides one more layer of continuous pressure. It seems, 4 dragons in a fast cycle deck is enough for activation of Nether Breaths. Not sure, why I'm still running the 2nd Hellfire. Even the 1st one is seldom used. We can replace it with Shroom Brewer or Acidic Swamp Ooze.

No matchup I've found too problematic or unwinnable. The hardest one is, of course, Secret Mage, but I won c. 40% of the games (!), which is nuts if we take into consideration Secret Mage was the reason why Even Warlock disappeared from Wild. Plus, their numbers are reduced, I might say for 10% of the meta, if not more.

I've seen Reno / Quest Mages much more and this is good. They can win only by completing the Quest very fast, otherwise they struggle to find solutions for your threats. Aggro decks (Pirate Warrior, Rogues...) are very good matchups, you lose these only if you become too cocky and greedy. More they hit you, better for you. I lost only once to Mech Paladin, because of a misplay. Cube Warlock can be tricky, which means 50-50, but I got wins even here. In these two matchups, silence is quite important + Zihi in the latter. ...Generally, everything seems winnable or under your control... Even Shamans, Jade Druids, Big Priests, Mecha'thun Warlocks, you name it. Even if you struggle vs. Secret Mage, it's not a big deal.

That's it. Just wanted to advertise this deck a bit more.

I've been playing a bit with a homebrew even-dragon deck and, from the few matches I played (rank 5-4), what really defeats me are slower decks, especially those annoying Reno decks that always have that perfect draw...

I wish I faced more secret mages and pirate warriors...

Anyway, here is my list, I'm very inexperienced with even warlock, could you give me some tips in order to improve it? The mojo master card is a real good catch!!

Looking at your list, it's definitely not bad, but obviously the 'official' version should perform better.

Evenlock is by no means a top tier deck. Because of meta... but mostly because of it's characteristic 'high risk, high reward' kind of gameplay (and I like this drama). You can easily die in a very cheap way, by bluffing or simply by overlooking something. So, decisions matter a lot.

Anyway, here's your average plan: 1) tap until you can play Giants and Drakes; 2) if vs. aggro you can play e.g. Homunculus on 2 or 3.; 3) after dropping a big boy, aoe his board and hit the face; 4) continue hitting the face, while doing logistic stuff (to bad no Shroomer anymore); 5) don't over commit (vs. slow decks), you have enough threats for several attempts.

No threats on 4? Play 4/4. Sometimes risk and don't heal, but make taunts and other proactive plays. Read their hand / deck. I find Mojo as an exceptional card. For example in a game vs. Secret Mage, I was on 12hp, he equipped Aluneth on 7, to Fireball me twice, of course. Without a proactive play I would never pop up his Ice Block, so I decided not to heal but play Mojo to put him on 6 mana where he wasn't able to burn me down. The next turn, my board destroyed Ice Block, I healed, and finished him the next turn with Breaths. I also triggered counterspells with Coin and Defile. In Wild, there're many little things you have to take care of. Tough, but exciting.

Makes sense then, I somehow overlooked the Nether Breath.
Isn't the DK Guldan worth it in this kind of deck?

Guldan is kind of unnecessary for Wild Evenlock. Hitting them in the head with big minions is enough of wincon. But if you enjoy that card (which is the most important), feel free to include it.

    Why the Evasive Wyrms?

They serve to activate Nether Breaths. There're 5 dragons for that purpose. Healing is crucial now and Nether Breaths are more handy then Shroom Brewer, plus they damage the face. Evasive Wyrm is an 'even' midrange dragon, very useful removal and followup to giants. Being evasive is quite annoying, too.

As you know, after rise of Secret Burn Mage, Evenlock disappeared from the Wild meta. I tried BenFromWork's new dragon version of the deck and it surprised me positively. I went 8-0 (r4), even defeating 2 Mages. Of course, this can be a pure luck or me being too good ;), but if you would like to (at least) try an old deck with some new cards; and you enjoy shivers by constantly being on the verge of death, this deck is for you.

It's because of Fireside Gathering, very probably.
