Nice one! And just in time. This is indeed a good chunk of experience to grab while it's still there. You might be more talented at this Duels thing than you thought. ;)

Some of them should definitely give double or triple that amount of XP, considering what they take. It can be a decent chunk of gold, but I agree it's only worth it as far as you can find some enjoyment while doing it. Have fun with your Dreadsteeds!

That's most impressive, I imagine only a handful of dedicated people are in that camp (I don't think Yogg will decide to answer my prayers in time).

12-0 in Duels is certainly tricky. Takes a busted combination of treasures and some luck, if only not to run into that "final boss" who might counter you with their even more ridiculous deck. I remember how discouraging it felt to pick up a loss right before the finish line.

Yep, that's definitely our main recommendation in the finishing paragraphs. Who knew the Duels mode would find its niche as a fertile ground for achievements ;)

Felt like separate Duels decks would end up mostly being redundant copies of the others, except with one-offs of cards by default. So instead making sure we add relevant notes for each particular case where you can hit helpful treasures and buckets to help with certain achievements. Perhaps you might have more observations to add from your own experience.

A lot of cards are somewhat optional (except the ones you need for a given achievement, of course) when losing or winning doesn't particularly matter. Of course you will be limited by whatever legendaries and epics you got from your packs or crafted. For the rest, we recommend Duels for a reason if someone wants to try their luck with finding the right loot buckets.

I largely share that sentiment, some achievements are not worth the effort they might require if you are not an ardent collector. You may luck into them randomly with various card generation, or try to engineer your own conditions, but then a small XP bonus probably shouldn't be the main motivation.

As Flux says, I'd definitely hit the next level if you are just a few hundred off. Always some extra gold.

Unless we hear otherwise, it might be risky to keep any quests. We don't really know how their Rewards Track transition might go, since it's been the first "season". It could be it doesn't affect quests at all, it could be something gets replaced or added.

Hey, it's there to stay eternally in the Hearthstone lore. I don't expect it to ever go away as long as those who remember play.

About it being more complex to pull off, that's not a joke. They would need to find a way to tie into a given deck (slot) with something like a button for your hero skin and coin skin of choice, so it sticks throughout. At least that seems like the way to go about customizing owned decks.

Such complex technology it would require of Hearthstone... then our deck (slots) might get thoroughly confused.

Gotta love how these slip ups always tend to happen. But when it's a different team publishing and revealing all that stuff, the devs don't seem to be particularly involved. Coordinating internatonally sounds like "fun".

They somehow handed it to the wrong Hunter! I need my deathrattle support, sniff.

Aside from Darkmoon Prizes coming in temporarily, I am actually surprised how little in terms of core mechanics they have touched over the past two expansions (for something that is technically still in beta). Damage calculations, health, etc. Tokens still seem to do stupid things based on random spawns and arbitrarily assigned star/tavern tier amounts.

I don't really "hate it" and had my frenzied phase of playing mostly just BGs for a few months, but that did pass eventually. And since last summer my average has dropped to below 1 game a month. I still get the appeal, yet with limited time all other modes took far greater precedence for me. BGs doesn't feel rewarding in the long run, grinding the rating endlessly.

Yep, that would be what the larger paragraph below the video was exactly about. Of course as long as they all stay at Blizzard, there is always that opportunity to drop back in. And the "little break" could be anything from months to a year or more, depending on the project. It still doesn't look like Donais and Whalen will be free anytime soon.

I'm not too familiar with Celestalon's full history at Blizzard, but I believe he was very involved with World of Warcraft before moving onto HS team permanently. Back in the day such internal movements wouldn't make the news, but he and some others have become very prominent "faces" of the game since.

I certainly didn't expect it to that extent. It just seems so persistent, that Zoo. Always keeps going.

They did add a totem related minion back to Core and Darkmoon did print the ultimate totem, so I suppose they want to continue that archetype somehow. But whether it gets enough tools is indeed the question.
Personally I'll be happy if all that spell damage in Shaman finally amounts to something.

There is nothing more thematic for Shaman than Barrens, so our time should come soon... I hope. And not on the back of random evolving.

If you believe it is all about luck and only luck, I would recommend trying your luck at any of the free tournaments that allow qualifying to such events. It's not a bad chunk of money when it's this simple. You might then change your mind after several tries, and consider there might be a little more to it. If some people always manage to get through, they are either doing something right, or are the most luckiest bastards on earth.

Luck is often too important in HS, I don't disagree with that. Not every decision will matter because of it. But that's still far different from tossing coins, you can't quite come up with any decent strategy for the latter.

Technically there shouldn't be much interest in streamers throwing their darts with the random luck game, and yet here we are. Similarly some just enjoy following the competitive scene, even if it's poorly supported and marketed by Blizzard. Maybe you don't, or maybe you haven't tried to give it much of a chance. For me the casters actually add a lot.

Quality commentary, hopefully some quality gameplay. You can actually learn something about playing certain matchups to help you do better in your own games.
