What's the difference? I already had one, did not dust it, and I got another one from the achievement, which I will dust for the same amount you did. Am I missing something?

Nothing tastes more delicious than the salty tears of a Warrior player -- no matter how misguided they may be.

Warrior is in an extremely good place now, and Rancor is a very good card if you know what you're doing. That's the main (and best) difference in the new Warrior cards. They don't just mindlessly play themselves the way old Control Warrior decks did.

Love the name. The effect seems really good, though I must admit it gives me a headache trying to come up with perfect combo plans with him. Definitely need to just play around and get a feel for when and where to best use him.

You're overthinking. He goes in literally every Rogue deck, and you'll know how to use him when he's in your hand. It will be different every time, and there's no "best" way -- unless you have a very specific combo you need to pull off.

To me, the more important implication of all this is that Year of the Phoenix packs should be subject to the "first ten" rule -- right? Since this is technically a new and different type of pack where the pity timer is concerned?

If I'm still missing a couple of last year's legendaries, they should show up in these packs within the first ten Brawls?

It starts the 30th. Everything else is behind schedule -- why not that?

I do have related question! If I open Rogue packs from Book of Heroes during the early opening, can they contain Barrens cards?

I'll probably wait anyway, just to be safe.

This section of the forums is basically dead, so ...

I think this is a valid criticism. If you went to Steam to buy a multiplayer game, and all the reviews said there is no online you should consider that when making your purchase. The game might not last another year

The MtGA section of the forums is also pretty dead, and that game is far from dead. I think... Mythgard also has a very dedicated Discord community, so if someone has an issue, they'd just go there. Not sure how true that is for the other games.

Right now it's an odd period. Everyone is waiting for the last two codes to drop, but wait time seems to be pretty good for ranked, so I'd say the community is pretty active.

When I made my post, it had been months since the last activity. This remains the ONLY active thread in the past three months.

So yes, I do think that says something about the game, but I was more implying that a dead forum might not be the best place to get information or opinions about a given topic.

As for sinti's "helping keep it that way" ... please. If people wanted to post about Mythgard here, they'd do so, regardless of my snarky opinions.

Really need a guaranteed way to activate reliably to see much play.  Expect that presents enough of challenge that probably doesn't see much play.

Disciplinarian Gandling would like to see you in his office. He wants to show you the Grimoire of Sacrifice he will be using in next week's Ritual of Doom.

I don't know how I feel about the conditional effects requiring you to play a tribe the previous turn. We saw in the final reveal with the half murloc half elemental deck that it can draw poorly.

That half-and-half deck was just a dumb idea. Full Elemental decks can be extremely consistent.

The ONLY benefit I see is the extremely niche case where a combo opponent has a full hand and you make them burn a combo piece.

In the pre-Barrens meta, it feels like that might have happened a lot, but I don't think it's going to be a useful strategy in the Year of the Gryphon.

FUN FACT*: Frogs in Azeroth cannot actually reproduce. All frogs are actually other species that have been hexed.

I can't remember the last time I played a Priest and had trouble keeping a hand full of spells. In fact, I often have the problem of holding more spells than I can cast, and I risk overdrawing. Sethekk Veilweaver is still in the game, you guys.

I can see the idea behind this card, but Hunter generally favors a faster playstyle which this card is not really fitting into

None of the new cards really support that play style. It may be time to accept that Rexxar is getting old and slowing down a bit.

It is slightly worse, but I feel certain this would be almost as scary as the old one if there were a way to give it Charge. That is what made the original so oppressive. And since the Charge was often used to clear minions, it is possible Broomstick will serve the same purpose now.

This could definitely see some actual play.

One small problem is that Primordial Protector seems to be the only way to tutor spells now. If your Wildfires are stuck at the bottom of your deck, you are going to have to rely on Discover effects or purely random generation.

Allows you to summon Water Elemental in the same deck with Kazakus, Golem Shaper, if that's a thing you want to do.

I just noticed that the Mage spell pool is really, really good as we enter the Year of the Gryphon. This is actually quite strong for a Core card.

I can't believe Caravans aren't listed in the Quick Info section as an exciting new kind of card.

    Oh, wait, yes I can.

Upon further investigation, it turns out that last year's duplicate protection changes happened while I was on a break from the game. I did read news stories about it, but never the official posts, so I didn't quite get the full story. News sites didn't see fit to spell out the details about golden vs non-golden, so I missed that piece of the puzzle. I was still going by my knowledge of the old system.

Good to know -- thank you for pointing it out!

For Nature and Holy at least, there's definitely a need to build around the concept if you want to take advantage of the payoffs.

Arguably, Frost and Freeze are so intertwined that they form a strategy even though it's not explicitly tied together by the school concept.

Tamsin Roame is more of a Shadow package than a build-around, for sure.
