The card is solid, but unlikely to be ladder material. It should be noted though: windfury makes magnetic especially scary.
I smiled at the flavour text though: "The hula doll is still absolutely required." which is a call-back all the way to the flavour text of Flying Machine.
I knew I wasn't crazy when I read the flavour text and thought: I've seen this before..?
Ancharrr and this card are the reasons why you can build a viable full of pirates deck.
Aggro pirate warrior in the past lost as soon as it lost board, because it usualy was in top deck by then. Sir finley was used to avoid that, with warlock hero power.
Now imagine if pirate warrior never ran out of cards in hand? It means possible tier 1 deck that's what.
This is part of the card group (together with the priest legendaries) "I'm as good as my opponents". In a game where you are supose to be better than yuor opponent this kind of cards just won't see play. Too many variables and bad hero powers.
Are menagerie coming back? Scale worm, Tasty Flyfish and amalgaman seem to say so, and in my battleground heart I so hope so, but there is still not enough.
Still, I'm going to play with it, who knows, could be this expansion sleeper.
A few review back, in the first galakrond activators, I said kinda in a joke that quest galakrond shaman could be fun, and some one rightfully told me that galakrond would replace the quest hero power.
Right now I don't care about it. Spending the early game double summoning 2/1 with rush, to culminate in 4 8/8 with rush seems like a great plan, especially after rotation when we will lose Jesu.. I mean Shutterwok.
But even better that that. Its a Glacial Shard with rush that advances your win condition. It never is a bad late turn play because of that, just like playing C'thun cards.
4 mana 5/7? really? honestly the dragon tag and spell damage are just a nice extra at this point. And don't tell me it has overload to compensate. Overload never was a negative thing in shaman, much less now.
The scariest thing about this card is the overload synergy. It's cheap and provides a good buff for token/murloc strategies. If this is used to trigger Thunderhead and buffs the sparks summoned immediatelly then it's kinda crazy. Vessina appreciates it a lot. I'm happy i opened her very recently from those free packs Blizzard gave as compensation for the tavern brawl issues from two weeks ago.
Do remind me, will Thunderhead summon minions before or after this card effect? The card is already great, but this difference might make it better or slightly worse.
this works just like fire fly, and its perfect for rogue even more. 1-drop combo activator, but on the double, and it's a pirate. I don't know how well pirates are going to be in rogue, but this is the one of the 2 classes that keeps on using pirates, so fair chance it will work great.
I love the artwork so much. Hearthstone needs to put more recognizable, non-Legendary minions in other cards. The only other ones I can think of are Evolve featuring Abusive Sergeant and Hobart Grapplehammer working on a Cogmaster's Wrench.
Dont forget about devolve were all the tri-class legendaries are being turned into murlocs.
Saying this card is bad is saying we did not learn our lesson with carniverous cube.
The meta is different, the cards are different, but mana cheating effects will aways be dangerous, especially in a class specialized in ressurecting minions.
Of all classes, paladin is not the worse to get this card, but no the best either.
ANd yes, truth that in shaman, or god forbid, druid, this card would be insane. But currently, ever since baku and genn rotated, token paladin isn't a big thing. Who knows, may this is what's missing.
Never has a 1 drop pirate not seen play, and one with these good stats and specific card generation is just insane. you dont even have to run it an all out pirate deck. Any mid range deck will love to have this card as an opener.

Nice catch on that one.

Rule of thumbs: If you're giving card draw to your opponent and you're not milling him, then you are helping him, and that's not good.
I could see murlocs and beasts, due to their agressive nature, but dragons and murlocs?
Only plus to that is the use of murlocs in the early game to scale up to a midrange control late game. Don't hate it.

5 manas 3/3 seems bad at sight, but keeping in mind the invoke, this card is broken bonkers.
Especially with my idea for it: Quest shaman!
It will be a thing, you read it here first.

Not saying its bad, because it obviously it isn't, but it doesn't look like the best fit in the game plan of that kind of deck.
I don't know, it looks weirdly put in the archtype.
But even better that that. Its a Glacial Shard with rush that advances your win condition. It never is a bad late turn play because of that, just like playing C'thun cards.

This card will rarely be a worse Tunnel Trogg , since most of the time times Tunnel Trogg was killed a turn or 2 after being played.
This will have the same impact as trogg, and once again enable agrro shaman, whose only issue right now was the lack of a sticky 1 drop.

On a side note, cannon barrage is still a thing

One of the best easter eggs of the game
An archetype sucess is always mesured by 2 main components:
- Do you have a win condition?
- Can you survive the early game?
This card checks at least the 2nd point. Early game is essencial for a deck to thrive. If Galacron priest works, this will be a core card in it.
Saying this card is bad is saying we did not learn our lesson with carniverous cube.
The meta is different, the cards are different, but mana cheating effects will aways be dangerous, especially in a class specialized in ressurecting minions.
Wild mech paladin is going to love this card, and quite honestly standart paladin might start to experiment with this, I know I will.
paladin has acess to Micro Mummy and Glow-Tron that can be drawn from the deck easily thanks to Crystology.
I can see mech paladin becoming a thing just like mech hunter. At least as a tier 2-3 deck. I like it.
Of all classes, paladin is not the worse to get this card, but no the best either.
