The synergy with Time Out! is the most obvious application, but I feel like there are more applications as well. Some classes/playstyles generally can’t deal damage on t2 (like slower Priest decks), while others have to disrupt their gameplan (coining this on t1 vs Quest Druid seems good, since they generally don’t want to hero power on 2 because it won’t go towards their quest). Even against classes with more damage, this can create situations where your opponent needs to go face with something when they would rather trade, which could be pretty good.
Val’anyr saw play so i reckon this will as well. Paladin has cards like Bronze herald and an Explorer incoming that can keep dragons in your hand. If Paladin gets a Tomb Warden style card that summons a copy of itself then it could be busted with the likes of Dragonspeaker and stuff. 4/5 will see play if Dragon paladin becomes a thing.
It seems a generally good card, that is just overall effective enough to see play at least in Highlander mage. Of course it’s good in a dragon mage and of course it’s bad in tempo mage.
I’m sorry but this card is not very kosher. You only have a 1/3 chance of getting the one you want, so this card is probably too inconsistent to be good.
An option for quest hunter, (springpaw, hallazi, swarm of locusts etc.) and like someone said in the comments: hunting mastiff. So in an earlier turn play the quest and maybe a spring paw so you can complete it turn four: when it will have much more impact. or even turn three with two springpaws (probably inconsistent)
Nice card and it does help thin hunters deck out sure can’t choose secret but getting you closer to other valuable cards and saving you Mana and draw is a good thing.
I don’t know whether hunter will actually play this card but there is no doubt that Veranus is a good card. Let’s see how many ping effects hunter has access to. Spring Paw + its friend, Unleash The Hounds, Rapid Fire + Second Rapid Fire, Desert Spear, Explosive Trap, Swarm of Locust. This is a lot of cards and look at that. Highlander Hunter already runs most of these. Also Zephrys will probably give you Arcane Explosion after you play Veranus. So for 10 mana you destroy your opponent board and get a 3/2 and a 7/6. We shall see what to come but Veranus is definitly exciting.
This card is probably going to be the strongest card in the set. Druid will have no trouble squeezing in some dragons to play a pre nerf wild growth that also draws you a card
This looks like a favorite card for say wild or arena in standard it looks nice for small removals. Also will Gonk make a reappearance? This reward does give hero 6 attack and armor if used in one turn.
Only good breath card so far since Paladin can actually run Dragons

Good card definitely. I think we will hate highlander paladin and this card when expansion launches
Cool card but the fact that it doesnt start on your hand troubles me and it May not be that much of a tempo spike

Priest had Dragon Soul as a 3 mana weapon with the same effect and that card saw no play whatsoever.
I’m pretty sure this card will go through similar fate… Yes, mage can cast tons of spells as of now but ehhh I just don’t see it.
2/5. Has potential but unlikely.

So how come this one is common and the old one was epic ?
I'm really wondering how a card's rarity is decided ...
I would play it even without dragons. 2 mana 3 dmg is solid and sees play in every class which has such a card.

Shadowbolt that draws a card and can get tutored with Master’s Call seems pretty good to me
If the req were other than HP usage, could ve been Nice in quest hunter, but it’s too slow to be effective.
I really hope Inspire hunter doesn’t work. There’s no worse feeling than losing to a Hunter who just pushes button every turn.

Great card,
Super good stats, immediate impact (Taunt + Battle-cry),
Not situational – Does not require any dragon to activate.Dragon-Druid is coming

Perfect tech for Quest druid. Late game win condition belong with Nomi + Floop
