Doesn't even say "targets enemies if possible." Probably lame.

With the amount of Buff spells druid has that would be awful. I think you may want to play this as a finisher while you have a board. Or maybe a reload with all the draw spells available. With standard druid spells it does not seem to be meant as a Rune or Yogg "oh crap" button

Looks weak to me but maybe getting Neptulon or Onyxia  2-turns early is strong enough for it to matter.

Not sure you'd want Onyxia since she would just be an 8/8 with rush

The new Legendary Dragon makes whelps on nature spells. These should trigger her immunity. So it may still be worth.

I assume how this will work is "choose minion or spell" then trigger the discover.

Looking forward to this, seems like a fun build around spell.

I think it is fine that old effects can be achieved through different means...What I don't think is fine is that they release weaker alternatives of past cards.

I love reprints/reworks. Bringing cards back in a different meta could give it the chance to shine it never had. Or slight tweaks to effects/cost can make a big difference. I do have to argue that even weaker remakes have their place. Take Shadow Visions vs Thrive in the Shadows. Thrive is certainly weaker as it draws the card rather than copy. If you had the choice why would you ever run Thrive? Reno/highlander decks. Having that extra option while weaker can still be useful to the game and deck building. Also Visions may be too high of a power level to ever bring back in say a Core set. Thrive existing gives them a similar yet powered down option. Here while we are talking about Call of the Wild vs Huntsman Altimor, a spell vs a minion, giving similar effects to different kind of cards allows for unique deck building purposes. A no minion hunter deck for instance wouldn't be able to use Altimor, while if they ever make a no spell benefit he would become an option for the same effect.

Huntsman Altimor himself I think is stronger than he looks. I don't think Infuse will be as hard to trigger, especially in hunter. We have to see the rest of the set of course before final judgement. Still I think the effect is strong enough to be worth the weight. Also it's not a hard card to adjust if it does fall short with so many different numbers (stats, cost, infuse).  So even if it turns out weak it can be saved. I still believe a 7 mana To My Side! + a 5/4 is worth running even if you can't reach the 8 infuse mark consistantly.

People said Wing Commander Ichman was too weak and too expensive too. Yet he sees decent play. I'd bet the same for Altimor. Looks weak on paper but plays out better than expected.

I think this card will be very strong even in standard. Druid has a lot of token stuff. Some ramp and one Scale of Onyxia to infuse this guy. Seems powerful to remove 3 things. Even at 9 mana Druid gets there so quick.

Sub classes are one of my favorite things in MTG. I've always loved tribes but there is just something about the weird mishmash they do. Previews for MTG, even though I rarely play anymore, are one of my favorite. They often list Creature type lines out as hints about the set or give blurbs about their effects or costs as an early tease. The creature text lines always get me as they go from:

    Human Wizard (Facet Reader)

    to

    Wolf Bear (Exuberant Wolfbear)

    to

Elemental Dinosaur Cat (Vadrok, Apex of Thunder)

That is all in one set. Seeing the preview card type and then trying to imagine the art until you see the final product is quite fun. I do hope they expand on their sub-tribes in Hearthstone. Just like adding schools to spells gives design room I think sub classes would too. Though the cost on the player may be too taxing if we go to far. Still I think it can be pushed a little if we can find a way to mark it simply on the card.

I like Bibliomite a lot.  I would love to see more of this in DH. Getting power in exchange for undrawing a card. Will help stop me from having my 7+ mana card on my left and not being able to outcast! Just a really nice idea. Glide did this really well also.

Kryxis the Voracious is just really cool. Great target to get put back by Bibliomite to set up Death Speaker Blackthorn or cheat out with the other Quilboar. Also enjoy another class getting discard cards. If/when they do dual class again, this will be another aspect they can highlight with a DH and Warlock dual card.

Burden of Pride while I don't think it's that good of a card I love the mechanic. Risk your life for a better reward is fun. Warriors are mostly just piling armor on top of their 30 base life. The choice of, maybe I'll just take a few hits to enhance a card, is cool. Like I said I don't think this is THE card to do it but a good reminded of an interesting resource.

Love Topior. Great effect, cool nature payoff, also a Dragon! Plus that art! Looks so fun.

I would argue for Secrets in paladin being flavorful. Calling them secrets is not for sure. But a desperate prayer or heroic final act, things like that feel Paladin. Game wise they had to be secrets to proc on the opponents turn.  So secret is a misnomer due to conforming to game play. Still I think they fit the theme of heroic timing/action for Paladin.

Also as Demon said they kind of got switched last minute. If they had more time perhaps they would have a different name or template to convey their more holy warrior flavor.

I like the new Rafaam and the Imp centric warlock. Feels better than other things like Reborn for Paladin in Uldum were it was so limited.  At least imps are just a thing warlock has and can be added in most any set. Seems decently fun to explode a bunch of imps on board end empower them or use them to draw. Still waiting for a fel spell or two that'll work with those cards from Alterac. Though maybe Imp Swarm (Rank 1) is now good enough?

Also a bit worried about the DH relics for the same reason. Might be to limited. The mages skeleton synergy doesn't feel as restrictive but I can't put my finger on why.

This isn't to bad. Nothing spectacular unless you get all 8 but still. I think it's stronger than it first appears.

Basline Animal Companion + a 5/4 body. That's okay, feels about even for 7 mana.

Infuse 4: To My Side! + a 5/4 body. The spell is better because usually when you draw it it's active. Altimor if you draw it late will be harder to infuse in some game states. Still I don't think 4 is too high of a cost in most situations.

Infuse 8: Call of the Wild + a 5/4 body is fantastic. Getting to 8 however, unless you had this in your opening hand, it's gonna be tough. We'll have to see what else they release for Hunter but it does feel like a very difficult target.

The Castle Kennels will also help smooth out this card. If you miss your Huffer, er Margore, you can at least use the kennels to get some immediate presence.

Like I said not the best or game changing but feels like it will be decent enough and often cast at it's infuse 4 to be able to see play.

Interesting interpretations. I think Regiskilbin made a video looking at the raid fight as well.

First off I love the brokers as the demon hunter suspect. As, I think it was Cora, said they are the outcasts. From my knowledge of WoW they seem like an interesting race.

Second the Relics may be able to give Demon Hunters off class spell schools. Much like Whirlpool does for Priest.

Xymog interacting with Relics or generating them in some way feels right.

I just hope they are interesting. The Skeletons seem fun in mage. It's also just weird to show off the vault and not a single relic. I get spreading it out but at least give us one to theory craft with.

That new KT is sweet. I love the idea of the exploding skeletons! Mage seems to have a real fun package.

Wish we got to see a bit more of what paladin will offer. Pure Paladin Light seems interesting though.

I love seeing articles and youtube videos about strange cards. Floral Spuzzem is not one I've seen mentioned though I may own some of those. Hilarious I've never caught that the wording is so odd.

Coldsnap was a fun set. I actually loved the way they mixed up cumulative upkeep from just costing mana. Karplusan Minotour being a favorite of mine. Also the cards caring about their age counters, like Magmatic Core, was real unique.

They should start today yes. I'm assuming we'll get the launch date later today.

In AMA's it has been stated they were thinking of going faster or adding another expansion to the year. So I'm not too surprised at the speed up. Maybe they are on track to do it? I'm sure we won't find out about anything like that until next year though.

    Happy reveal season!

Exactly my thought too. Some kind of Clue type mystery with each class having a 'suspect' as their legendary. Shadowlands overall has a big variety of characters from azeroths past to pull from. Be real fun idea for a custom set if that's not the case.

I got Hedra early on so one of the first decks I made was a naga druid. The gardener feels real good. My version is not competitive but still a super fun deck. I might have to craft the druid questline to get a better finisher in that deck.

107 with Tavern Pass. Been fun, 19 legendaries overall. Bouncing around different decks. Been distracted with other games to really progress but certainly happy with were I am. Colossal and dredge have been real fun. My Identity Pirate (Thief Pirate Rogue) has been my go to for most of this expansion. Stealing and resummoning Colossals feels good.

    Happy Nozdormu Day!

Are murkeye and captain's parrot tied to achievements now? I swear when achievements came out I got a second copy of them despite already having the old hidden quest completed.

With the demon hunter nerf slowing down the meta I can see your concern of a passive Warlock curse deck taking over. I still think Abyssal Wave (?) Is too weak and should of been the buff target.

Maybe making them 1 mana to discard would be wise. I've been in a spot in a few games not even having enough mana to discard them all because of Brann + battle cries and Zola.

Or moving them to trigger at end of turn. That could just kill them out right though.

It is a fine line between viable and dominant. Especially with a passive damage output like Curses it could cause problems. Blizzard definitely has their work cut out for them here.

I think Dragged Below should be changed back. At 3 mana it is in the School Teacher discover pool. With a deck that is already using Brann those Nagalings become dangerous.

Don't get me wrong Abyssal Curses needed some love. However I think the buffs should of gone to the worst card of the archetype  (6mana 4aoe to all). It should either by 5 mana to make it closer to the standard of hellfire or maybe 5 damage brining it closer to flamestrike but to both.

Pet Collector was already good, so I'm excited about the buff. Big Beast Hunter has been one of my favorite decks since Alterac. Harpoon Gun as well looks crazy good.

Tooth was such a nice change. The rest of the burgled stuff is great too. I don't even use Tess though. Swapped out for more of a pirate package and the new Hooktusk. Probably my most played deck this expansion.

Always love buffs. Especially to older cards  that never took the spotlight or just became too slow.

(On phone I'll edit in tags for cards later)
