Equipment is a really old concept, spawned in Magic decades ago.
In magic equipment never really was that good unless it:
made the wearer untouchable (in lor this would be spellshield)
Buffed way above rate (like give 10/10 for 1 mana)
have a low cast and equip cost (cutlas would be an example for that)
gave the wearer broken keywords (like in LoR double attack, scout, overwhelm, elusive, lifesteal)
...or were almost free while giving the most broken keywords at fast speed (embercleave cought)
To be honest: I doubt that riot will hit the mark with equipments as with a large card pool as we have in LoR and the countless possible interactions there won't be the right manacost/powerlevel for equipments.
You can make them strong, open for multiple archetypes and therefore broken on selected wearers or weak unless selected wearers use them and very niche
Landmarks were a failure for a VERY long time. And even now landmark removal is rare and many regions do not have decent landmark removal still.
I am not sure if landmarks were the game's savior they were in the end just the equivalent on mtg's enchantments that... well also in mtg are mostly forming annoying/degenerate decks when they are competetive.
In the end I miss LoR origins and I never has a fan of landmarks but then I was never a shurima fan and proably never will be
Cool buffs/nerfs but where are buffs for Gwen's support cards and lvl 2 Gwen?
I played a lot of Gwen this expansion and... it doesn't add up for Gwen.
The fact that most hallowed units blow completely (only 1 drop and maybe 2 drop really do work) makes her profiting from allied hallowed buffs pointless and let's not talk about lvl2 Gwen being effectively worse that lvl 1 Gwen because all about the drain effect is interruptable.
I would guess that bard strikes higher winrates because he is kinda idiot proof so that "less" talented players can still perform on him as he literally is a statstick champion.
Kai'Sa is proably healthy around 51-50% with 10% playrate at best the same way Lee Sin was.
56% win with 20% playrate on a "hard" champion is pretty clearly too much and there is no way riot doesn't agree on that and will nerf the archetype ... together with the chimes archetype
At this point I won't repeat myself and just remind of my comment on Kai'Sa actually not even being answered by answers because of shuriman support cards and because your first Kai'Sa is buffing all Kai'Sa s to come with spellshield regardsless if she survives or not.
Jokes aside: I don't think that Kai'Sa and Bard compare well.
While Bard is overpowered and boring Kai'Sa is uninteractive and frustrating to deal with.
Both aren't fun matchups although i pref boring over unfair ones.
In the end both could use a tweak to be less annoying but what do I know as a pleb who doesn't really play much runterra right now
Okay played some more games now and I am now 100% certain: Kai'sa MUST be adjusted to leave removal based strategies a way to play the game.
If you don't have the perfect answer for her as she lands you will lose and even if you should have the answer the opponent might have the answers to your answers right away because shurima.
The fact that lvl 2 Kai'Sa is so easy to get and will win you the game easily on her own turns she into an "I win button", worse than Lee Sin was at his hights
"I do think she counters the meta, and that really pisses people off"
I explained very detailed what my issue with Kai'Sa is. If the deck draws Kai'Sa and get's evolve together there is nothing you as the opponent can do to stop it.
I would guess the wincondition isn't as easy to accomplish as one would think as you need to draw several units with different keywords but it's completely out of your opponent's agency weather your gameplan comes together or not and THAT is pretty toxic of a game experience if you ask me.
The deck isn't unbeatable, the deck loses to fast aggressive aggro/agressive midrange decks but it's very unfun to play against still.
PS: stop assuming that I am just pissed because my meta deck doesn't work... unless you assume KatarinaGwenTybaulk reanimator to be a t1 meta deck ;D
Edit: if the archetype ever should turn out to viable then I can at least say i've built it and play it without shame :)
I already have the feeling you are more into trolling the community than bringing up valid arguments, that or you have not half the level of game understanding you think you have.
You say: if they play Kai'Sa 5 she doesn't get to spellshield until they get priority back
that's true but not true at the same time:Kai'Sa can be removed instantly with a Vengeance ("fish" would require to be deep on turn 5 and COSTS 6 UNIT MANA and Will of Ionia is not answering Kai'Sa by any stretch of imagination) but she still get's Second Skin and instantly spellshield when you play the second copy of her since Second Skin from Kai'Sa 1 already gave Kai'Sa 2 the keywords.
Also does kaisa most often land as a 6 health unit taking damaging removal out of the equation...
So you have 2 removal spells in the game (the other is Minimorph) that can remove a turn 5 Kai'Sa... one of them can be denied and both fail once kaisa has spellshield.
THERE IS no realistic counterplay to Kai'Sa and just because IllaoiBard and Annie are boring champions it doesn't justify the existence of broken champions
ALSO WRONG: Kai'Sa isn't the only wincondition of the deck Void Abomination is the second wincondition that eats 2 answer at least too
I am neighter playing what's meta (because that's the most boring way to play a cardgame really) nor do I lack the skill to predict a Rite of Negation.
The reality simply is that you CAN'T play around it most of the times as the opponent open attacks leaving only 1 chance to play removal.
And if you think removal shouldn't beat combo then you have a strange understanding of cardgames in my opinion
a card getting nerfed doesn't mean it shouldn't be further nerfed (most players proposed a nerf to a 3/2 statline back then and I doubt't the card would fall out of favour at a 3/2 statline)
B of all: if people complain about shurima it's most of the times because every champion is so effective as finisher having spellshield
To counter a spellshield unit you have to put multiple spells on stack... what if there was a multispell counterspell for 4 mana to crush this sort of counterplay... oh wait
Rite of Negation is imo clearly the issue why spelllshields in shurima are so powerful and it would make the region significantly easier to answer if it was weaker
And to a degree you are right it's just a game bad metagames are meaningless... unless you want to enjoy playing the game which is the actual point of the criticism.
If Kai'Sa doesn't allow for meaningful interaction while being in the region with the best interactions means sth is very off with region balance.
I don't mind shurima as a region but it's balance seems not right lately.
Shurima has a great board control because of vulnerable, but also it has the hardest to interact units "thanks" to spellshield and now they have 2 legit winconditions that both have spellshield themselves... That's too much for just 1 region to have.
So what would I do: nerf Kai'Sa's spell from focus to slow and allow it only to resolve if a kaisa is in play
I think at this point a clunky 3 card combo that starts on turn 6 and can very well be disrupted by any non damage removal/cc isn't that big of a deal.
Like I haven't seen the combo yet, but also I haven't seen a single gwen deck not surrendering before turn 6 when facing my Yasuo reputation deck.
Therefore I don't care a lot about this card and even if the dancers are better than Gwen... Gwen isn't that good so it doesn't really matter imo
I would strongly argue against your statement as all the new archetypes are very bland in their execution and do not create much of a unique play patterns okay maybe Evelynn is a new summon/die/1cost unit engine is a bit interesting despite it mostly being a keyword soup archetype... Kaisa isn't at all interesting or fun unless giving valor spellshield and overwhelm to copy that keyword soup is original/bigbrain to you and Gwen really is just ramping up attack bound to otherwise very weak units as we have seen it in lurk before.
To me none of the new archetypes stand out or are something I would like to build around and I proably will just pass on ranked unless Yasuo decks actually should prove viable which they still struggle to do
I would argue that the stronger Jhin decks require him to run cannon barrage and double ludens setup and play him in path of champions lol.
To me the champion in pvp is a joke and I won't bother building decks around him as there are many better decks to pick up right now imo like KatarinaYasuo for example
As the title suggests the LoR Deckbuilder isn't really working as I would expect that it should (from allowing to put in cards from more than 2 regions, being incapable to detect dual region cards for the region they are used for and having some cards twice in the cardpool (like Yasuo))
But I don't wanna be a dude just complaining that the deckbuilder is not as I would expect it but would like to ask if I as someone who does some web developement could get my hands on improving the deckbuilder and make it more as I would imagine it.
If someone in charge (who isn't patches the pirate) gets to read this feel free to comment or pm me weather that could be a thing :)

1 mana Ancient Hourglass was really broken but will 2 mana be enough? We shall see ;)
Landmarks were a failure for a VERY long time. And even now landmark removal is rare and many regions do not have decent landmark removal still.

The patchnotes already got leaked buddy...
Bard's chime generation now starts on turn 3
Kai'Sa's championspell Supercharge goes to 4 mana and Second Skin becomes slow speed + Ancient Hourglass becomes 3 mana
annie tf: Ravenbloom Conservatory countdown up from 10 to 12
Illaoi becomes a 1/5 and Tentacle Smash spawns 2 now
So Riot's birthday gift for me is a reveal stream... I hope it's something interesting and fun :)

To be fair:
Ionia always has been the region of interruption and therefore never got access to spellshield.
Riot really needs to reconsider the design choices made with shurima and look into what weakness shurima is supposed to have.
Maybe it's nerfing Rite of Negation as I said before, Maybe it's nerfing Quicksand to turn the region into a region weak to combat.
But Riot really should take some effort to give the region a defined weakness that other regions can take advantage of.
At this point I won't repeat myself and just remind of my comment on Kai'Sa actually not even being answered by answers because of shuriman support cards and because your first Kai'Sa is buffing all Kai'Sa s to come with spellshield regardsless if she survives or not.

This sounds much like:
"it's just a game why you mad"
And to a degree you are right it's just a game bad metagames are meaningless... unless you want to enjoy playing the game which is the actual point of the criticism.

When it comes to jhin I kinda find it funny how Jhin right now feels weaker than Yasuo.
The issue really is that lvl 1 Jhin is BAD as a unit without keywords that needs to attack to do anything.
Lvl 2 Jhin is a lot stronger but still... lvl 2 Yasuo right now is proably better.
As the title suggests the LoR Deckbuilder isn't really working as I would expect that it should (from allowing to put in cards from more than 2 regions, being incapable to detect dual region cards for the region they are used for and having some cards twice in the cardpool (like Yasuo))
