Getting to 10 mana is hard enough these days so that a boardwipe like this seems reasonable.

Will it be good in decks like feel the rush?

I would think so but I don't see it being a big gamechanger for the deck.

Afterall it will be a 1 mana cheaper Icequake most of the times

This card is such a Yasuo card, I wonder why there is no hint about him in the artwort.

Flavour critics aside: this is a very decent Yasuo card. Having the flexibily between a +1 cost Legion General or a +1 cost Crescent Strike is just decent for the archetype

So Bard will be all about reverted traps...

Now on one hand this theme will suck hard against trap decks because it want's to draw a lot while traps punish exactly that and on the other hand it... not even that good in "normal matchups".

Handbuffs are worth (a lot) less than boardbuffs -every hs player learned that quick as handbuff became a thing- so drawing a chime is about as valuable as drawing a free gem along another card.

Is  a free gem good? It can be because it's a spell that triggers several effects, boons however don't trigger ANYTHING so they have by default very poor support.

And what is really the best thing this deck can do? Play overstatted units ... sometimes?

Like the payoff and the support both are miserable and I can't see this archetype actually being good ever unless it get's more support AND better payoffs AND an easier to level Bard

Now this is a GREAT addition to the game!

Matchups and answers diversify with every set and it's becoming harder and harder to fit the right answers into one's deck.

With the tellstones now resembling quite universal answers it becomes a lot easier/actually doable to actually have the right answer for the matchup.

It still takes skill to pick the right answer it still takes skill to foresee the right time to use them and I think this is just good design overall!

You call 1 big unit that is easily removed by a silence, transform or kill effect of any kind massive board presence?

Like the reason why viego is much better is that his mist grows on every summon and can't really be shut down as a strategy.

Tentacles however don't have any removal protection, come in a region without really decent control tools and

Need to be rebuilt whenever they get destroyed. I can see a tentacle deck surviving 1 tentacle getting removed but 2 is proably already bad and 3 being it's death sentence.

Viego's mist is a problem that the opponent only can delay, not solve tentacles can be solved and I therefore think they don't come close to viego's archetype.

If you get a 12 power tentacle down he for sure is a very strong finisher, but getting to 12 tentacle power seems to me almost Impossible to do in a competetive environment.

Let's not fool ourself: the big difference between this and viego's plant is that viego's plant doesn't care if you remove it or it's token. This one is useless if the tentacle keeps getting removed (what it will against any nonaggro deck)

I agree that Illaoi and Viego are very similar in their theme.

Both summon big bad tokens that try to overwhelm the opponent.

The huge difference however is that Viego's tokens do not really care about removal since they are repeatedly summoned ephemeral threats whereas tentacles are an all in strategy that's eaaaasy to shut down.

Most tentacle themed cards are aweful and the few that aren't would proably do best in SI builds that sacrifize the tentacles for value.

I'm not a fan of being negative but when I see that the big plan of Illaoi is supposed to be to spawn a 12 attack tentacle then... this sounds very goofy and bad of a gameplan

    Let's see ...

5 mana draw 2 and summon a 2/2 ? Not quite on rate but decent.

Spoiling only 1 serious card today is a big rough for a spoiler season but it is what it is I guess :/

Amass was SO BAD in MTG that the only amass card that ever saw play was a blue removal spell with amass 1 for 2 (which was used as sacrifze fodder/chumb blocker).

Given that experience I think that watchful idol could become a huge player in the meta as a sac fodder/chumb blocker outlet and together with monkey idol I can see a si/bilge token aggro deck becoming a thing

Oh look it's amass from MTG but now in LoR...!

I better don't tell everyone how (horribly bad) amass cards performed when amass was legal in standard (when standard wasn't even close to it's powerlevel peak)

But in a way this fits LoL Illaoi very well: A champion who just absolutely sucks when played against somewhat competent players but stomps low elo (that doesn't run proper removal) without any questions asked

2 thoughts about your Revna, the Lorekeeper build:

    1. Avarosan Hearthguard: do you think that dude is any good anymore? I haven't see him in any decent decklist so far and I don't think he he deserves to be a 3 of in this deck.

2.Since ravna is a summon effect: have you considered recall/ ephemeral copy effects for you deck? Like can you imagine the highroll potential if you handbuff a ravna, and then target it with Dawn and Dusk/Go Get It for a dumm amount of carddraw/deck buffs.

It will be a slower gameplan this way but I think it will be much more potent and much more devestating in the lategame this way.

This could be very decent in turbo thralls. Like a mass cc spell bundles with countdown 4? For 6 mana you absolutely take the deal

    Simple but powerful.

In the right decks I see this being played as a 2 of because it's just decent tempo for go wide strategies

If anything this unit screams midrange.

I guess we will see this card being played Sejuani Gangplank builds or at least tested in those.

For aggro this effect is too slow and neigther control or combo decks would bother to play such a card

Now this is pretty much the best toss control spell in the game.

Therefore 5/5 stars no questions asked

At first glance this effect sounds super powerful but after thinking a little bit about this spell's applications I am a little afraid that if you target an opponent's unit with it he will just buff the unit's health in response fizzleing your spell completely.

    I don't think it's bad but I don't know eighter if it's actually good

Despite being 6 mana and therefore high risk to use I think this card has the potential to slap hard.

While I don't know the deck for it yet I can see an effect like this turning tanky units into sneaky finishers

An Etb is an Enter the battlefield effect (in LoR it's a summon in Hearthstone is a battlecry) As a player who is mostly involved to MTG right now I tend to call it etb although what I mean is a summon effect

I wonder how this card is supposed to be any good at a cost of 6 mana.

It's soooo slow and grindy of a card it's so low immediate tempo and is proably miles away from viability therefore

The only hope of this card is to combine it with targon's Destiny's Call for a pretty degenerate super lategame strategy.

...But that should not become a thing anytime soon
