I had Scarlet Webweaver, Violet Wurm and Stampeding Kodo in hand and decided to play the wurm, because there was a 50% chance to get screwed by RNG. My opponent had 3 3-attack minions and I wanted to play the more expensive minion first. In that game my opponent was way ahead of me and I thought I was going to lose it, until they played this:
Just a fun little deck I play in wild casual. I suspect Burn Mage will dominate the ladder this expansion and there is no reason for me to build a half-serious deck. I mean, I could try and add some early-game cards like Dead Ringer, Bloodmage Thalnos, Mistress of Mixtures and Spirit Lash, in order to complete the quest extremely fast and shut down the opponent's aggression, but this would just hurt the fun aspect of the deck and make it feel more like a typical ladder one, which I'm not interesting in experiencing.
If however some of you are interested in a more serious list, just ask and I can give you some tips on how to make them more competitive.
Editor's notes - I knew, that [Hearthstone Card (conjurered mirage) Not Found] would be useful in this deck, but I never expected it to overperform that well. It has won me many games against aggro (including burn mage), so I decided to bring this deck to the ladder and see how it would perform there. I managed to reach rank 6 with it (from rank 10) and made some changes, in order to make the deck a bit more competitive (but still fun to play). Right now I'm working on creating a guide containing information about the different MUs, but so far I can comment on:
- burn mage; - Big Priest; - odd paladin; - mech hunter; - even shaman (old version) and murloc. - jade or armour jade druid.
I have faced other classes and other decks, but this is what I have been frequently encountering for the past few days (incl. in casual).
Taking a small break, I will write the "class specific tips" section a bit later.
You don't have to be placed first, in order to obtain those 388 points. Being in the top 10 is still enough. But I strongly agree with your comment. The reward system is messed up - whoever gets placed 11th or lower, gets so few points, that those could be easily ignored. And the prices of some items are abysmal. A mount in WoW (the white raptor/horse) is worth less than a single hs pack (which will probably give you 40 dust, if you already have most of the cards from that set).
would be awesome something like this. playing "competive" and gain some packs.. seems to be a lot fun
Except... you get 388 points for 1st place, one packs costs 420 points
Yup, I saw that too. Isn't it a bit unfair, that someone has to put a lot of effort to reach top 10 and will still not be able to purchase a single pack with those points?
And I don't even want to talk about people, who are placed 11th or lower.
Ty, glad you liked it. But I still have a lot of work. I'm planning on adding more sections (like making the deck more competitive) and improving the story.
That awesome moment, when you face Exodia mage as thief priest and acquire a copy of their Ice Block. The opponent was very excited, when they assembled the combo, until they saw what secret I stole from them, how I healed myself to 40 and Entombed their Archmage Antonidas.
Btw, sorry for the bad screenshot,
but I want to take a moment and praise Conjured Mirage. That card blocked so much damage in the game versus Even Shaman, that I was able to reach turn 7, when I cast Psychic Scream and won a few turns later.
Yeah, I know. But the decks above were supposed to resemble cheaper versions of their popular counterparts. The dust threshold was around 2000 and we were asked to stay below that line as much as possible. Initially I ran both copies of the Crystallizer, but with 6 epics alone the deck had exceeded the acceptable crafting cost. That's shy I removed them. But if you go to my zoolock's deck page, you will see a paragraph, where I recommended adding the epics instead of the Witchwood Imps.
First of all, thanks for the kind words. But I think you have mistaken my deck. I didn't create the highlander one, Superkowboj1 did it and they deserve all the credit for it.
Still, I wish you have fun while playing it. Regarding Barista Lynchen, I can't say how useful she would be in that deck. Superkowboj1 might run a lot of battlecry minions, but most of them cost 3+ mana and you might not always have an easy time copying them. That's why I normally run Zola the Gorgon. Still, I would advise you to ask the aforementioned user, since they are the original creator of the highlander deck.
Just faced a Linecracker jade druid in casual. When the opponent pulled off the combo and gained 2k+ armour, they started emoting as if they have already won.
I was playing my Thief Priest deck and I said to myself "Bro. If you want a slow game, I will give you a slow game". At the end neither of us could kill each other, because we reached the turn limit. But I would like to imagine how salty my opponent was seeing that their armour didn't do anything than prolong the game.
Thanks. Conjured Mirage has been doing great. This is the tool control priest needed, in order to reach turn 5 and start playing its powerful defensive tools (Mass Hysteria, Rotten Applebaum, Convincing Infiltrator). Two days ago an odd paladin silenced the mirage, I made a trade and I renewed its effect by resummoning it with a Wretched Reclaimer. I managed to survive yet another turn, to play a deathrattle minion and to heal myself to 40 with Amara, Warden of Hope.
I play WoW, I played it and I will probably play it in the future. Ever since I was a kid, I felt in love with RPGs and the aforementioned MMO allows me to explore certain classes and dive into the fantasy of the game. My favourite class has always been druid (which isn't the case in hs). I just love transforming into different creatures and taking differerent roles - the one of a dps (melee and range) and a tank.
Right now I play in a private Wotlk server, because I had fun playing this expansion before and I haven't killed the Lich King yet.
I got her killed multiple times today and the effect went on
Hmm. In that case, I guess my "observations" were false. I should have paid more attention to the moment, when Tess Greymane was played. I might have missed the rogue player reequiping Dragon Soul and putting Explosive Trap into play.
Thanks for the comment, I will edit the original post.
Yeah, but I wondered if Tess was secretely nerfed. When I faced that thief rogue, the legendary only summoned one minion before killing herself and ending the battlecry. The opponent played other cards before that, I'm almost sure of it. I remember seeing Explosive Trap, Dragon Soul, Princess Talanji and there were at least 1 or 2 other things beside Naturalize. And it's not like the game lasted shortly, I played N'zoth twice long after turn 10.
That's why I would like to wait for someone, who has Tess Greymane in their collection and sees whether she still works as normal.
done
Just pulled a very gross turn in arena:

I use Questing Explorers instead of Dead Ringers, because I want to get better value from Twilight's Call and N'Zoth, the Corruptor. I want the spell to summon as many Sylvanases as possible. Conjured Mirage is here to delay the opponent's aggression and bring us to turn 5, when our AoEs kick in.
If however some of you are interested in a more serious list, just ask and I can give you some tips on how to make them more competitive.

Nice article, Wookie.
ty, glad you liked it
Well, sorry for your bad experience in the TB. I hope you have greater success next time. :)

@ Sherman
Thanks for posting the clip, tt was very educational. Now I really want to open Zephrys.

Hey, Frosty, thanks for including my deck here. Although I really appreciate the gesture, can you do me a small favour?
Kovachut has also continued his evil plotting with Madame Lazul and the older Priest Quest.
Madame Lazul won't be the one leading the plundering this time around. It will be Rafaam. So can you change that?
[edit] Thanks and sorry for bothering you.

Sorry to hear, that your run ended so fast. I hope you achieve more victories on your next try, even if you run a completely new deck.
