Thread update - I have probably missed some cards, when Tess was played, so she still works as normal. Sorry for making this thread.

So I was casually playing my thief priest deck in wild, until I faced an opponent running a wild version of the Bazaar Burglary rogue. Fast forward to the moment, when they played Tess Greymane - she cast Naturalize on herself and ended the battlecry instantly. Now, it might be just a Mandela effect. I admit, that I didn't pay too much attention to the game, because I was only trying to have fun. But when Tess Greymane was played and the aforementioned thing happened, I became kinda suspecious. I am almost 100% certain, that my opponent played a bunch of cards from another class before Tess and those didn't appear after she died.
Does someone have this legendary, in order to see whether Tess Greymane works as normal?

Quickly after patch 11.2, this change was reversed, Tess now once more continues her battlecry even after she is silenced, killed, transformed, or leaves the battlefield.
Posting here just to thank the devs for giving priest Wretched Reclaimer and Conjured Mirage. I don't care how popular burn mage is on the wild ladder, steal priest just became more fun to play.
Regarding your question - if you go to my new deck page, you will see that I'm only planning to create a fun-to-play list this time around. I suspect Burn Mage will gain a lot of popularity in wild and I would just screw myself, if I don't include more cheap deathrattle minions. In the past I ran a super anti-aggro build and I even managed to reach legend with it, but right now I kinda want to have fun. I want to be able to steal stuff and be greedy and not just summon defensive minions.
If the meta slows down a bit, I might make another half-meme, half-serious quest priest deck again. But I'm not planning to do it right now.
I think, that in some cases Shieldbreaker would really be better due to her cheap cost, but I kinda want to run Spellbreaker for now in case I stumble upon rogues (edwin) or some mech decks. Still, I have to play some games and decide what would be stronger.

From my experience they arrive at 20:00 EET. So 7 pm CET or 13:00 EDT/ 12:00 CDT depending on where you live.
