Comparing this to Flash of Light, it can be better in some situations since you can get more healing and/or discover a spell you want to use the turn you play this. But I'm really skeptical since paladin secrets make this much worse and there are a lot of bad paladin spells from the basic and classic sets.
This is not supposed to be a mill card. It's a vanilla-statted Novice Engineer with the drawback of drawing your opponent a card. Every class got so much card draw so I don't see this being played.
At the start of scholomance, a super-low mana curve aggro DH was shortly popular before soul DH got mainstream and it relied heavily on constant refills. This seems better than other card draw engines in that deck so it might work in a deck like that.
Even if Echo was a standard keyword and everyone new to hearthstone knew what Echo meant, it's not the same effect as Echo. Echo is not conditional, whereas this is. Wording it as "Deal 2 damage to a minion. If it dies, this gains Echo." would be incorrect since the generated copy will summon another copy in your hand only if it also kills a minion. I really cannot think of a clean wording that works with Echo.
I already hate face hunter... knowing that 3 more [Hearthstone Card (leper gnomes) Not Found] are coming at me AGAIN late game just makes me want to rage quit. Thankfully, it is such a high cost, it probably won't be viable in Standard. Wild Deathrattle Hunter however....
I doubt 8m summon 3 leper gnomes is something to worry about against face hunter
But it's the same mechanic of transforming minions based on their cost. The bingo sheet slot should have been better worded IMO
But Maxima doesn't work with handbuffs, she summons a minion from your deck
E.T.C., God of Metal
it also deals 8 damage total for 7 mana while developing a smaller body.
The art looks like the animal companions came out of a disney movie. Always Huffer Pumba.
Deck of Chaos. But I doubt there are enough cards to build around that specific synergy.

Instead it turned out to be 2,3,2,8. I guess they're filling voids left with previous expansions, I haven't been keeping track.

Might be a sleeper card, Fungalmancer was powerful.
Has some synergy with Relentless Pursuit so I wouldn't disregard it completely.
Secret Plan on a stick, very good.
Reminds me of Feral Rage. Seems like a callback to the old gods set.
Gives DH an option to use its attack for single target removal, covering its class weakness.

as long as you don't resurrect anything
Does it proc on 0-cost cards in hand? This has crazy potential in wild.
May help for setting up C'thun
