Is there a chance that the scholomance legendaries reset the legendary pity timer for scholomance packs? This is the only thing keeping me from buying the bundle right away.
As much as I dislike netdecking and conforming to the meta, I do kinda wish these sporadic Wild highlights were a bit more representative of the format, or there was one of these more fun community highlights and one of the more serious ones. I can almost guarantee you're not gonna find much success with stuff like the Rin OTK in the current Wild. But I would be curious to see some interesting takes on, say, Reno Warlock with Archwitch Willow, or whatever Hunters get up to these days. Essentially a middle ground between what's the meta, which doesn't really need highlighting cause you can play the game and see what's out there, and what's a straight rank 10 gold meme.
I know I'll get downvoted to hell for this, and I mean no disrespect to the deck creators or the people picking these decks. But as a Wild only player, these really don't bring much to the table for me, cause they're far too off from viability.
I kinda agree with you, but your suggestion would basically list overused meta decks which try out some new cards. You cannot easily discover a brand new deck anymore that is viable without experimenting with a crazy idea that is most likely just a meme. Reno warlock is already a known deck and adding Willow would just be repeating a mechanic that is already used in that deck (Bloodreaver, Kanrethad) through a different card, which you can come up by yourself (and did). By trying out these decks you can find what works and maybe combine it with an already viable strategy on your own if you want. If I want to try quest mage with new cards I can easily switch out some cards for the new ones without any help, if you understand what I'm trying to say.
Besides, I don't think you've tried my combo priest deck featured here :D It can destroy meta combo decks and easily outlast aggro, mostly losing to some value matches. Btw thanks for the feature ooc!
Way overdue. Hoping they decide sometimes in the future to limit the availability of legendary cards to one per game, so that you aren't able to discover or generate (or maybe even play) the same legendary over and over, but it's a stretch currently. Infinite value matches just aren't as fun anymore to me and the latest control galakrond priest deck just proved to me how toxic it can be to the game. It's like [Hearthstone Card (dr. boom, mad scientist) Not Found] and control warrior meta all over again.
Nobody asked for this, but I'm just gonna list a few class cards from basic and classic I haven't seen played in constructed in a very, very long time because of how bad they are considering the newest sets or they just don't make sense anymore.
There are a lot of potential candidates in my opinion so I'm curious how they plan on solving this. I don't think all of these are necessarily unplayable, just that there are much better options to consider with each expansion or some archetypes have never received the required support to make certain cards work.
I don't have a problem with it, but I figure some folks might, especially casual players. Hearthstone always stood out to me because of its vibrant art and oftentimes I recognize cards just by glancing at the art, without the need to re-read the card text to make sure. Introducing different artworks for the same cards might introduce some confusion there and generally slow down gameplay, which is why I'm not sure how to feel about this idea.
I accidentally ended up watching almost the entirety of thijs' stream yesterday (while working, cooking etc.) so the packs felt like a nice reward for watching games all day lol.
Honestly, I wouldn't mind them doing this more often on purpose, especially after a new expansion release since it might raise interest of players for the new expansion. The more I think about it, it actually makes more sense than rewarding watching tournaments in the middle of the season. You're technically spending time on the game and as Beardo would say: "time is money my friend!"
There are a lot of visual bugs that don't have anything to do with the size of the card pool. For example, Lorekeeper Polkelt looks like it shuffles your opponent's deck, Ras Frostwhisper appears bigger than other minions on board, and I often get this bug where damage dealt to heroes stays displayed on their faces until you click on it. I have also seen other streamers experience the same bugs.
Concerning illucia, swapping with brann should still permanently swap decks and hands, right?
I wouldn't include #7 and #8 for now, maybe even #5 and #6, but every other card is problematic due to mana cheating or massive card draw. Also if they changed (0) cost generated cards to (1), shouldn't it be fair to do the same for kael' thas?
Why would you think that Enchanted Cauldron casts a class-specific spell for the class that plays it? It clearly says "cast a random spell", just like Puzzle Box of Yogg-Saron casts any 10 random spells. Targeting spells from the class-specific pool of spells would make this card too good for its intended random effect.
Galakrond, the Wretched's battlecry used to be much more consistent and stronger before the latest rotation, especially with all these dormant demons introduced. Really a pity, it used to be my favorite Galakrond deck.
I also noticed the new update added a new skull icon when a minion is destroyed by a poisonous effect, didn't see that one mentioned anywhere. I appreciate this change which makes the effect of Professor Slate more apparent, but the icon's style seems really unfitting to me, like it's overly cartoonish and it's kind of bugging me lol
I feel like 2 mana deal 3 damage cards are always good, so it seems this would be good too. Although it is weaker in the sense that it can't target face which you might've down with Darkbomb if you had lethal.
Of course, it's going to be a good card in Fragmentlock (as I'm calling it) and Fragment DH.
In Rogue there's a clear synergy with Bamboozle, but it's hard to imagine anything about that play would be secret - if your opponent sees you have a secret up, they'll assume Bamboozle, and depending on what 5-drops you get, may very easily determine which is the one that dies instantly (e.g. you're probably not going to make Earth Elemental the vulnerable one). So, it may be too easy to play around this even with support.
In Mage the case for this seems harder to make. There's no synergy with Spells Only Mages, where minion generation is particularly valuable, and currently there are no secrets like Duplicate and Splitting Image which would better support this the way Bamboozle does in Rogue.
All that said, I don't think this is a bad card. Obviously it's very vulnerable to any cheap AOE, but if result is that your opponent spends a card and you're left with a random 5-drop (albeit injured), that's a decent trade. And if your opponent doesn't have any AOE, they may be stuck attacking into what is admittedly a lot of tempo for the price, potentially making bad trades as they go to test for "instant death." And in cases where you get a particularly good deathrattle (e.g. Convincing Infiltrator, Waxadred, Totem Goliath, or Scrap Golem, etc.), the "instant death" downside may be easily mitigated.
Thanks for the tips! I got High Abbess Alura, Vectus and Bulwark of Azzinoth from this bundle.

Not surprised by this list, except for Rattlegore, which I thought would almost see no play at all. Alura really is too good, she should cost 5 mana.

Why are the biggest meme cards always epic? *sigh*
I think this won't trigger if your opponent doesn't play anything
Mini kun, even better
Not soullock?
You can duplicate the totems, buff them or evolve them and control the board or clear it with all the tools available to shaman now.
This gives access to rush to treant druid, which is a major improvement to that deck. Not that treant druid will be good because of this.
