it seems pretty significant. It means the combos with Breeder and Barista are harder to pull off, you can no longer play 3 Scions in one turn and, most importantly, it eliminates the Galakrond + Scion swing turns

I agree, although I never faced a warrior who played 3 scions in one turn so I didn't even think of that. It's still a great card, you have to admit.

I honestly don't understand why so many downvotes on my comment. I probably misjudged invocation of frost, but compared to previous nerf history, this expansion really seems silly.

bye bye, shaman. The nerfs will also make spirit of the frog and zentimo worse in this deck and galakrond shaman will just be worse overall. Dragon's pack might still be good with electra, but I think the popularity of this deck will plummet after the nerfs.

Did not expect this one and I think it really won't matter much as this is still the best play on curve after dragonblight cultist. But I guess you can't play this twice or with cultist before turn 4 anymore, so veiled worshipper won't be active but that's really fine.

It's a good change, although I haven't experienced this situation enough times to be asking for this nerf. It's good they did this before any high level tournaments take place.

Wow. Just wow. Previously the nerfs were a big thing and now they just casually nerf half of the new expansion with no additional explanation of the nerfs. I'm not saying I disagree with them, though. I don't think any of the nerfs were unnecessary, except maybe invocation of frost. I don't think it's that relevant of a change either. It's funny how they nerfed all of the galakrond shaman cards except for the galakrond itself, as though they haven't even tested its power level. My only concern is that the change on scion of ruin will not matter that much as it's still a pretty strong card for a low cost.

Huh, didn't expect they'd nerf other galakronds so soon. I'm guessing warrior and warlock.

The deck is very fun, but it loses to the main meta contenders, deathrattle rogue and galakrond shaman, as well as zoo warlock.

Thanks for confirming my suspicions--I was wondering last night what could come of combining quest druid with either Ysara or Alexstrasza, and I figured they were entertaining possibilities but not anything that could compete with all these big-stat decks.

I've been facing a lot of galakrond warrior lately and those matches were easy, so it depends if the meta will shift again. But yeah, the overall winrate is still not very good.

Galakrond warrior brought me to my first time legend with only 5-10 losses, so I'd say this deck is pretty good in this meta

Can you share a list? I've seen variants that include the leeroy+mercenary combo, but the list felt a bit clunky and draw dependent.

Curious why galakrond warrior is so popular all of a sudden since it's not among the strongest decks.

I think they wanted to make the cards worse in general, but good in certain decks. Now sludge slurper and mogu fleshshaper aren't necessarily autoinclude cards in any shaman build. Running quest in galakrond shaman makes it slower, and if you don't run quest you don't really need sludge slurper anymore. Mogu now requires more minions on board to be effective, which should be harder to achieve in galakrond shaman, especially with the corrupt elementalist nerf. Without mogu, you don't need mutate in the deck as well, leaving space for different cards in the deck. I think the nerf will be effective in distributing the power level of shaman across different deck archetypes, making it less opressive and easier to counter. The only things I'm concerned with are faceless corruptor still being too good not to see play in any deck that can easily generate small tokens and that necrium apothecary wasn't touched at all.

A healthy nerf but very unexpected from my side. It was an autoinclude in every shaman deck as well as mogu, so nerfing them will make shaman generally weaker.

Wild is actually pretty okay, they just need to do something about the most prevalent decks in order to give other decks a chance to compete. Previously it was big priest with early swing turns with barnes and when they nerfed him it basically disappeared. Now it's secret mage, whose main problem is that it stops you from playing your removal spells because of counterspell or sticking any minions because of explosive runes, while dealing huge amounts of burst damage to you. The only counter is eater of secrets, which is a really bad card on its own, you need to draw it and it still doesn't provide enough of a swing turn to guarantee you're still in the game. That's just an inherent design flaw on blizzard's part which was bound to come to light and it's only matter of time before they realize it. I just hope they aren't as slow with it as they were with barnes.

It's deceptively good, but it's got a really steep learning curve. I still haven't gotten it optimal, but it's absolutely promising. The main issue is hand restrictions, and the Lackeys (mainly the newest one) can be particularly frustrating--if you had unlimited hand space, this deck could have a nerf-worthy winrate against non-aggro metas. Decks that have minimal threats in the early turns let you do everything you need to do to pretty consistently set up lethals. Keep in mind though that Hearthstone's small hand size forces you to think very quickly at times, so you have to be pretty proficient at on-the-fly addition, subtraction, and multiplication (just times two, really). You also have to have a pretty good APM, since you're at the mercy of slow battlecry animations.

I've been meaning to write a properly comprehensive primer but that's a pretty time consuming and daunting task, and I think that time would be better spent on actually getting better and improving the deck further. If it's interesting enough to you and dust isn't really a problem, 800 is a small price.

Thanks for the thorough comment. I will experiment with this deck for sure, I just don't want to get steamrolled by secret mages and pirate warriors all the time. I hope this deck can at least challenge them properly.

Thanks for the well-written report, I agree with everything. I think besides the overpowered galakrond the complete class needs rework with doubling battlecries and cheating 8-drops by turn 4 with evolving, but I doubt they will change anything drastically.

This with barista lynchen makes shudderwock pre-saronite chain gang nerf all over again...or even worse maybe with all the lackey battlecries. Have they learned nothing?? I hope the battlecry effect gets nerfed as well as the power level of this card

How good is this deck? It looks fun and I have every other card, but I'm afraid to craft spectral pillagers.

Thank god a nerf is coming, the power level of this card alone makes the whole ladder experience not fun. They haven't announced that this card will be hit, but it's bound to happen.

i hope that they will fix that you can see the galakrond getting invoked/upgraded in your opponents hand while holding it. so you know he has it in hand...

great to see, bad to know that he can see yours...

does anyone know if that is reported?

If you mean you'd want for them to remove the animation telling the opponent it's in your hand, I absolutely agree. I hope that wasn't an intended interaction and that they're planning to fix it. C'thun doesn't tell you his location either!
